I was a support guy with 5th SFG at Fort Campbell. Some of the best dudes I ever worked with were ODA guys. He’s so right, relationships matter.

Support in what capacity? Do you guys get to have the SF patch and don the green beret or you were I another unit like 82nd and attached to 1st SF command?

Taking less on what you can chew will benefit you. Doing your home more than Googling all the answers is not who I would look for Practice survival on shelter, starting a fire, go hunting, go and hunt for a lot. Show up in shape ready to ace a test. Be a jack of all trades if you can be One can be plumbing, construction, fixing cars. The list goes on. If you are going to become a Ranger or a Green Beret work on being a jack of all trades is huge on the team.

@@1anre I wore the unit patch but definitely didn’t wear the Special Forces scroll over it. Support staff could be admin, intelligence, supply, legal, motor pool. I’m my case I was one of three photographers assigned to 5th Group. Great times and I got to do a lot of cool stuff with the ODA’s. I was very blessed and fortunate.
