I personally think that acceptance is the most valuable emotional state to cultivate. Imagine if we accepted everything exactly as it is. Then we could have the opportunity to choose what to address, and not just be reacting to life all the time...

The Advantage of Acceptance is that when you really accept a situation as it is, you suddenly stop producing negative thoughts which generate suffering : Catastrophizing, Why this ? Why this happens to me ? This will never stop or go away and so on. Remember "pain is necessary, suffering is optional" this is the main lesson of Buddhism

It's impossible to override the reptillian survival brain, if something truly traumatic happens in your life, you cant just simply 'accept' and all goes away. Sometimes a lot of healing needs to happen which can take years, especially childhood & ancestral traumas.

There is already nothing wrong with absolutely anything including having a very active mind. That’s what’s happening = the absolute appearing as an active mind. How can that be right or wrong? The only apparent problem is that subtle belief you have that this as it already is shouldn’t be and that includes having or not having a very active mind as if you have any choice over that matter. It’s freedom, that you ignore noticing btw, appearing as a busy mind which is already everything you have ever longed for because it excludes nothing and is everything, and that freedom is the freedom to have a busy mind. Yes, there is nothing separate from anything, not even that apparent “you” 😂 No one escapes freedom. ❤

If you breathe slowly and just accept and acknowledge thoughts and feelings by saying “ I am aware I’m feeling sad/ angry/ frustrated/ frightened and it’s allowed , even I am aware I’m resisting feelings it’s allowed, it’s ok, this stops you fighting it and really helps because you are learning awareness and accepting the feeling or thought completely ❤it stains you to observe feel and allow

Autosuggestion is an overlooked tool. Emile Coue discovered it in the 1800s when he had half his patients say to themselves each morning, "every day, in every way, I'm getting better and better." The ones who said it (didn't even believe it, just doing what they were told) showed demonstrable improvement compared to the other half. It's been studied & repeatedly shown to be real. EFT/Tapping is the same principle, but with more emphasis (knocking it into yourself).

@@m3kbeatz _"I cannot accept my pain, fatigue, anxiety.."_ That too is a form of autosuggestion. If you tell yourself something isn't fair and you can't accept it, the odds are 100x higher that that's what you'll identify with, feel more truly as your reality, manifest it, etc. I don't know what your situation is. But, there's always someone suffering more. I see blind people and can't begin to understand what it would be like to be me (with all the wrongs done to me _and_ that impediment). Yesterday I saw a morbidly obese woman in wheelchair at a bus stop. I have the luxury of getting in my car when I want, go where I want, without that indignity (I actually saw her the day before. It stood out to me even more how down I'd be on myself if I had to struggle that way _in addition to_ my mental problems). There's a lot to be thankful for. Often we "get" something from dwelling on how unfair things are. We reject reality as it is (including the good things that others would feel blessed to have). But, I know where you're coming from (without knowing your details). Wrongs/injustices/unfairness are real and worthy of recrimination. That's the irony. You're perfectly justified in focusing on that. But, where does it lead? What do you get from it?

It doesn’t matter what the beginning of your story is like. The pages before you are blank. You are the one who gets to decide what is written. It is a story you will constantly revisit as you shape your path. You will discover interests hidden around the next corner, or the next. So keep going. Tumble into this realm as often as you like. Write your story. Start where you are. And change the ending.

I never have trouble accepting what is partly thanks to Eckhart's teachings. When I go into presence I shift into unified consciousness, or the quantum field and just feel so grateful for the present moment and as my heart activates so does my brain and my connection with spirit solidifies...from this place I've healed things doctors can't and am consciously created my reality and am living my dream. I don't know what to do with this peace sometimes, but it is so much better than before. I have had moments of awakening that were very exciting. I don't focus on them because i can't expect them to stay, or come back. I feel peace (better than happiness) is always there or within reach. The more i look to see each day for what it offers, the more i can find peace.

When you find acceptance, you can make real change happen. Acceptance is not liking or disliking. You can accept something that's a reality and don't like it at the same time. This is very interesting, but when I sort of experienced something like a very strong pull towards up, at the same time I realised that all is gone, all that I was used to - all is meaningless, darkness, unreal, so I naturally cried very much, and the experience of "the pull towards presence" at the same time meant mourning of the world as I knew it before. Again, it is 15 years since it has happened and know I sort of understand it all better, but I cannot go to that state anymore.

This is sooo great!!! Along the way, I discovered that the degree of suffering is proportional to the distance between my current experience and what I want or what I'm resisting . A process that arose, was getting real and naming what is going on when I'm not feeling ok, and being tender toward it. Welcoming each 'guest' : thought-feeling-mood- sensation, as if it is God/Source, visiting with a gift to wake 'me' up and come back to the reality of this moment. Like a letting go, surrender, acceptance of here and now. God bless all the fair dinkum (means for real) teachers out there. We are so bloody lucky to be living these lives, and being drawn to these blessed Teacher Beings busting suffering through their authentic awakening . Love it. 🌻🙏💗

_"I don’t like this world. It’s cold and cruel."_ Liking it (or not) doesn't change it. That's radical acceptance. If you were dropped in the middle of the ocean with 5-20 minutes to live, almost nothing you think about (value judgements about how reality should be) would enter your mind. You would have an entirely different, un-narrated reality. The chattering mind wouldn't be of any comfort. You would face raw reality, this is how it is; nothing I tell myself will change it. You can have that without being dropped in the middle of the ocean. It already exists. You're just believing your story because you can, it's a habit, etc.

I've had the same physical tension for years, even though I was already aware that I am awareness itself. but the physical tension could not be solved by devotion alone. Only when I could accept complete love for myself, which ultimately is SELF, as a person, did the physical pain dissolve. Realize that you are valuable and God only wants what is good for you. You as spirit are all that exists. Infuse your body with awareness that you are and know yourself as the Spirit of God and all will be given to you. Listen primarily to your inner voice. Forgive yourself what you thought of yourself, it wasn't God's thoughts.❤

To me a keystone, this teaching. It dissolved my restlessness once and for all and for all times for once. Not that I have no problems indeed! Just I don't see them as problems anymore... There is no other way to sink into life to the fullest. It opens many doors without us even noticing it. To accept pain,- life is full of pain!- it means accepting the life that we are and that will reciprocate our humility by showing us the way... IT is so generous... In the words of Christ it is "Not resisting evil..." Resisting hardens the heart, to accept is to go back to living the life that we are, IT opens to life and there is no greater LlBERATION... SO grateful 💓🙏

Ahh I recognize what this lady is saying about a kind of resistance is setting in. Something I struggle with too and don't understand either. It feels like some part inside me does not want to grow in this new proces. So I am very thankful for the answer and advice that mr. Tolle gives. I will definitely try this. Bless you sir 🙏

I liked it when Echart said the lady not to argue but try to apply the principle of acceptance first. Most of the time we shut up (inside) whenever we hear something different from our preconceived notion of what’s right and defend the status quo. Without application, most knowledge is practically useless. Open your mind to new ideas and try it first to bring out any (better) changes in your thoughts and life.

This seems complex but when Eckardt talks about "conditions" being resisted, then I understand that he speaks here of acceptance; seems simple enough, until one realises that it's not a simple matter for many of us at all, simply to acept the way things are, or have become, despite our efforts. Acceptance of how a situation has panned out, unsatisfactorily or how we hoped & there's nothing we can do about it any longer, can cause great dis-ease in many, in the West especially, where popular belief holds that persistent effort is the key to success.

What if your reality is deep suffering, grief traumatised, feeling hopeless and despondent, exhausted...and all that despite keeping the courage and hoping for better days...and this for years...then acceptance would mean I wouldnt get out of bed anymore and...or worse...because I don't have the feeling this will ever get better...

i had some Tolle CDs where he answered a similar question, he said that the ideal would be to accept & allow everything to come & go just as it is, in this moment, ok, that's the ideal, but he went on to explain that, when it seems that it is just too much to accept, whether in grief, loss, the death of a loved one, etc., on these occasions though the ideal would be to accept, if u cannot, _you can at least_ _accept how you feel_ _about it_ & this is not just a cop out or clever wordplay, it's a two tiered, or two layered approach, there's the ideal of completely allowing & accepting what is, & then, if u feel you just cannot do that, then the next best thing u can do is be present with yourself & accept & allow how you feel about this. this teaching has come back to me time & again & i realize that what this practice does for me (when i remember it) is it stops my disconnect, i don't just throw my feelings under the bus, deny "reality" & move on, no, i'm facing my limitations, of my ability to surrender & accept, & just feeling, and being with that, not abandoning my feelings, but accepting them. the teaching was from a 6 CD series of Tolles, from 10+ yrs ago, called ~living the liberated life~ (ive since found it on YT, but it gets taken down?) at the end was a Q & A, & on the last question a woman stood & asked him how she could deal with loss, & the death of someone close to her. (her husband?) & his answer (to me) was very simple & profound, i no longer have the cds, but i remember that part of his answer to her, the part where If u are overwhelmed & it seems that u just cannot accept something, to be present, as much as you can, and accept how you feel about it. 🙏💜🕯️🌱🐾👣🌿🌎🕊️

Accept it, yes; because it is what it is. But, after accepting it, then initiate external changes so that it better suits you, if able. Boiling/filtering unclean water to make it drinkable, for example.
