A single boiler coffee machine has one boiler for making espresso and the same boiler is used to make steam. The temperature to make coffee is lower than that to steam milk based drinks. I have the ECM classika PID machine and will show you how to swap the modes from espresso making to steaming a milk based drink. I then swap back to the espresso making mode and show how to swap the water temperature settings from espresso to steaming back to the espresso.
Why buy single boiler machine? Smaller bench space foot print, much lower cost than a dual boiler machine and less power cost to have this running all the time . Single boiler and less to break down.

Do you really need to purge that much water?

When you swap from coffee to milk steaming , if you don’t purge until the steam is clear , your milk will be very watery . If you left on steam , your milk will be great and you don’t have to do that much purging but you would not be able to make coffee . That’s the problems with the single boiler but it’s a great machine . I love it .

Thanks for the comment. I didn’t even drink coffee that much . From your comments I think you should get this machine . At least I it can do the milk based drinks if you need it to .

The Classika is pretty much the Syncronika minus the steam boiler. Should be a no brainer for mostly Espresso drinkers. But the Syncronika sure does look impressive. Which machine did you end up with?

@@knipsi22 We have the actual machine in the video as my wife has espressos. Only visitors and myself have the milk based bricks . Synkrionica does look amazing but at double the price. May as well have two Classikas with one on steam and one on espresso mode.
