The point isn't to not own a home in Singapore anymore actually. :) The point is to buy a home in Johor while Singaporean are in their 25s or 30s and by the time they retire, they have a fully paid home ready for them to enjoy anytime. They can stay in SG or at times stay in JB to their liking.

@@BobbyAngmalaysia The problem is johor home does not command good rental and difficulty in getting tenant after malaysia did not resolve the causeway jam, changes in mm2h and cancelled projects . Do you know that when Singapore anounce no intention to close the border during covid malaysia anounce closure within 24 hours the next day. This result in exodus of retiree out of malaysia. Investor confidence is low in johor. Even the sultan of johor is not happy.

@@John-us9rm policies can change overnight with stupid leaders or smart leaders (democracy yo) but the constant would be costs of construction, and the fundamentals of a great geographical location to live in remains :)

It's the third world Malaysia environment bad structure etc dirty road which is why even the hdb in SG is better than a landed in johor

Then you continue to stay in your HDB or buy the same type of landed in SG from at least SGD4mil. My family live in HDB, condo and landed in SG and HDB is NOT better. Last year my neighbour transacted their Semi-D for SGD4 mil and we are in ulu north. If you prefer to pay 10 times more for a landed in SG then by all means. Malaysia does not need you.

I am Singaporean ,No need to be nasty to each other lah. We enjoy Malaysia's cheaper living standard. We dont buy we still can live there by supporting their rental market.
