How to do a combustion leak test to check for a bad head gasket. I perform it on a 2017 f150 with a 3.5l ecoboost because it was overheated and and later spraying antifreeze so this confirmed the leak.

My wife's expedition had a bad head gasket at 80k miles. No hard driving all scheduled maint. Seen lots of problems. Im looking for some HP gaskets instead of using the junk they factory I stalled. Suppose to have a class action because they knew they were trash from what I hear

My truck started to over heat after ford replaced the exhaust manifold, I never had the problem before. 3.5 eco boost 98k miles it only start to get hot on a slight incline. Any ideas? Ford can’t figure it out

Pull a vacuum on the system, it probably has a air lock in it.

Can you replace just the head gasket? I think I have a bad one and I'm being told I need to replace the entire engine.

The head gasket can be replaced but only if that is the actual failure. You might have a warped or cracked block in which case the engine needs replacement. To replace the head gasket is more than just a gasket, it will also require machining the heads and replacing any tq to yield bolts.
