AFFILIATE LINK DISCLOSURE: Friends, making a quality Loloho video is kind of like making sausage - only slightly more violent. It's a ridiculous amount of work that typically involves high dollar camera drops, blue-screen-of-death computer crashes, and at least one angry shotgun wielding old man shouting, “Hey! Get the hell outta here!” Once the final video is posted, rewards here on KZfaq are few and far between (unless you are a masochist who enjoys being verbally abused by anonymous trolls). One saving grace is our affiliate links. JUST CLICKING THESE LINKS HELPS TO SUPPORT OUR LITTLE SHOW. Think of this clicking as like tipping - except that it doesn't cost you anything extra! If you eventually make a purchase via one of our affiliate links, we will receive a few pennies (and Sean typically invests these pennies in duct tape and video gear). Again, it doesn't cost you anything to click these links, and it's a great help to us. As always, safe travels, happy camping, and THANK YOU!

I have one of these and I was surprised you didn't mention the GREATEST feature of these units and the MAIN reason I bought one. This unit can be charged at any of the thousands of "EV Charging Stations" across North America!!! Purchase the optional EV Adaptor and you can plug it in and charge it from any of the EV stations in less then 2 hours (25 mins on fast charge) - The looks on folks faces when I am sitting at a station with the charging cable running into my storage compartment is PRICELESS!!!

I believe there were a couple errors in the video. The Ecoflow Delta Pro uses lithium iron phosphate batteries rather than lithium ion. Second, the port above the cigarette lighter is a 30 amp Anderson output port that can be connected into a fuse block. The port for solar charging is on the rear of the device. I also assume you meant that your house batteries were 120 amp hours rather than watt hours.

I will say upfront that I am not a "green" proponent. That's not to say that we should not strive to find better ways to support our energy needs. We should do our best to take care of what God has given us, but Check out the mining of lithium. (to many issues to get into here) Also, no one mentions that Lithium Batteries only re-charge so many times after which you need to dispose of it...how? OK, I had better get down from my soap box now because I like following you guys, and I don't want to get kicked off lol Please continue to keep us "In the know" about options available to the RV world ...Love you guys,

We have two small (170wh & 280wh) portable lithium generators, two 100ah lithium batteries, 200w roof mounted solar panels and two 120w portable solar panels. This has been sufficient for 6 days of boondocking (with 60% of the house batteries remaining). We have a 2000 Honda generator and an easy start equipped AC unit for the rare time when we need AC. This has been a very economical setup for us.

Santa brought me a smaller Ecoflow for Christmas, we had an ice storm in 2021 and were without power for a weekend, and my CPAP didn't work so I didn't sleep well, and neither did my lovely bride. It's large enough to handle an overnight outage and I can either plug it into the car or take it somewhere that has power to recharge.

I’ve setup a Delta Max with two smart batteries INSIDE my 28’ Airstream, with an INSIDE 20A shore power socket and transfer switch (sufficient for everything but aircon) and charging from 400W of rooftop solar. Solar charging can be combined with a/c charging from the 1kW house inverter / battery bank. This suits our boondocking needs, and the three 40 lb pieces go into our home during the winter off-season for standby emergency power duty. The Yamaha 2400 and gasoline containers no longer travel with us.

I've had that unit for a month now and it works great. After hurricanes Katrina and Ida we were out of electricity for 8 days each time. We lost all our fresh picked fruit and veggies and I had to haul in large containers of water to water my wife's commercial garden nursery. According to the Kilowat tool, the fridge/freezer uses 2500w/24 hrs. The Ecoflow kept it going from when I disconnected the solar panels at 5pm until I plugged the solar panels back in a 10am and it had 60% charge left in it. When running the fridge/freezer with the Bluetti EB150, the inverter gets tripped once and a while from the surge, so I have to keep an eye on it to make sure it's still on. And it runs out of juice well before the sun comes up. Since we have a 240V 1hp pump on our water well and need to run it a lot in South Louisiana to water the plants during hurricane season, I am considering adding the companion 3600wh battery and connect the units to give 240 volts and see if it will run my water pump. I have an electrician coming over for some separate work and will ask him his opinion. I would like him to put a 240V outlet on the wall and a pigtail on the pump so that I can plug the pump into outlet connected to the grid or into the Ecoflow Pro.

Don’t you still need solar or a generator? I have a 2kw system as well (2 battleborns). I can’t run my AC, and can barely run my CPAP. I’m limited by the inverter. If it works for you, great. I still need a generator to boondock.
@nancyfuller4901

@@jeffforbess6802 I have 3, 120 watt solar panels for the Bluetti. The Bluetti also charges with standard house current, 12 volt from a vehicle, or a gasoline generator. I can run the air conditioning in my Casita for a few minutes using the Bluetti. The Bluetti has 2,000 watts of power so basically you have 2,000 watts to burn. The unit can also input power while it is taking power out so in other words, you can have it plugged into solar or a vehicle while you are running something, say an appliance, using the Bluetti. I think the unit would have no problem running a CPAP all night. I also do have a gasoline generator which I hardly ever use. I bought that before the Bluetti so I only take it along camping if I’m going on an extended trip.

I bought The Pro & Two Expansion Battery's with 1,600 Watts of Solar Panels to keep it charged in the backyard that gives me 10.8kWh. I can run my house on it except for my AC We have Natural Gas Heat it runs that without a problem. I live in Texass and They now have Issues keeping the lights on But Not here I hooked the 30Amp cable into my Fusebox when it goes dark I flip the bypass switch and we have lights. I also put blackout shades on the windows so when SHTF nobody will know I have Silent Power and run 8000btu portable AC's to cool in the summer. The Delta Pro IT IS A BEAST and I'm proud to own one! I love it. One more thing, I have $9,100 in this I see the bottom falling out from under us in the not so distant future and I see this as a device for survival. I am looking at a Winnebago Micro Minnie Bunkhouse model. The bunk over bunk area will have the bottom bunk removed and top bunk used for storage. I am considering this with the extra battery as I'm extended boondocking minded. I'm thinking the two units would work really well against the forward wall of the bunk area which would also put the units directly over the middle of the two axles.....perfect for the weight. Now how to figure tying these into the trailers 30 Amp service.

It can power the A/C during the day with the right amount of solar. I am wondering how it will do at night when the sun is down. I have a small Bluetti EB150. It wont run the A/C or microwave, but it will run the trailed over night while conserving. I like these units, they really are an excellent companion for tent camping or short power outages. The only real problem I see currently is cost. I can get a 3000 watt inverter generator from Harbor Freight for about 900 dollars. But, depending where your camping, a combo of this unit, a small generator and some solar panels can make a boondocking camping trip a breeze.

Expensive but perfect under a narrow set of circumstances. Is the juice worth the squeeze? If you have excessive amounts of disposable income - yes, worth it. Otherwise- $650 and take along a two gallon can of gas and / or an extra 20lb LP tank and you are good to go, especially in an emergency for far less a financial expenditure, which admittedly, has some advantages.

The major fail for RVs and vans is that it will not charge with the alternator and solar panels at the same time. One/same port. The other major issue is diesel heaters usually draw too many amps for it to handle that as well. I am living with the diesel heater issue by wasting power using an inverter to AC first. I’m not sure if you could help me with this, but I had a thought regarding dual charging. There is only one port for both the solar, or the cigarette lighter, why could you not wire both of those together before the single input? I would think it would work. It’s not like the Delta pro would know, it might just think an extra solar panel was in if you know what I mean. Any thoughts?

You need to learn about the Great Reset. Fossil fuels are being eliminated for most. Yes, nothing compares to a gas generator, but in a few years your social credit score will be linked to your carbon foot print. This is real.

I have an Eco Flo delta pro two with the extra battery and I get about 14 hours to as much as multiple days run time before I have to recharge and that’s running the whole fifth wheel with one air conditioner running on automatic through the 30 amp set up! I can recharge through the solar panels on the roof by plugging into an outlet or if I’m Boondocking I take a very small predator generator which I can recharge the whole set up in about two hours with! i’m no salesman this is what I do with my wife all the time for the last 6 months real world experience folks!….. I just checked my settings if I ran the air conditioner on full time I could run it for 12 hours straight so there’s a little reference for you and remember ACs cycle they don’t run continuously usually anyway! My set up is installed in a 2023 Montana high country 295 RL

How does this compare with a Honda or similar unit for power run time?
@Northfordtrailcam
@Northfordtrailcam 2 жыл бұрын
Looks like it will outperform my Honda 2000w generator in terms of peak and operating power for the first hour to 90 minutes. After that, my Honda will run about 7-8 hours on a gallon of gas and still run the AC and keep my 200ah of lithium topped off.

Compare the price to buying 3600watt of life po batteries. It quickly becomes worth it. I have a 14.4kw Ecoflow system comprising of 2 dual smart generators, 2 delta pro, 2 extra batteries, 4 400 watt EF panels, voltage doubler and the smart home panel. We use it to run our entire house 24/7 except for central air. We have a 14k btu portable room AC for grid down scenarios. We don’t know that the power has gone out until we start getting warm.

I think that 2 hours of AC would be based on the compressor being on full-time. Could you do an experiment with how long you can run the AC in reasonable temperatures? I'm guessing it could run all night but want to know before I invest that much money
@LongLongHoneymoon
@LongLongHoneymoon Жыл бұрын
The EcoFlow is a fantastic unit but A/C is a tremendous electrical draw. Even with our four 100 W/h on board lithium batts we only get 2-3 hours of A/C. You might get slightly longer (assuming the A/C compressor kicks off) but I really doubt you could run it all night unless you have some sort of special low wattage alternative tech A/C unit. I love solar & lithium tech but we are all still using dated A/C technology. There needs to be some innovation on that front. At the moment being able to run A/C all night still requires a huge investment in batteries.

@@LongLongHoneymoon Thank you for the reply! Did you mean that you have 4x 100Ah batteries (instead of 100Wh batteries)? If so, I think that means you have 4x 1200Wh batteries. If so, that means you have 4800Wh capacity with your batteries compared to 3600Wh of the Ecoflow Delta Pro. Is that correct? If so, I understand that you are basically saying you have an even bigger setup already and know from experience that it only powers it for 2-3 hours. I have a small'ish 13,000 BTU air conditioner in my 21' travel trailer. I'm sure its on the smaller side, but maybe not different from what you have. We only recently started boondocking with a generator. I love everything about it but the generator part. This was supposed to be my path away from the generator 😢

Hi Sean, just caught this video that was spoke about before regarding lithium power supplies. Just a quick correction. These have the new chemistry: lithium iron phosphate (LifePo4) not lithium ion. LifePO4 can have many more cycles in it's life (some say up to 5000 cycles) but also are heavier. That could easily last for 10 years for some. Lithium ion has shorter cycle lives. Nice review. I bought a different brand but similar for about half the price on the Indiegogo site for prelaunch products.

So with 3 battery units and the solar panels the buy in is about $15,000 while a Honda 2,000 watt generator is about $1,000 dollars. Wonder which one 99 percent of the people will buy. By the way mining lithium and processing it is one of the dirtiest processes there is for your feel good battery and solar system.

You’re exactly right! Traditional generators are the best option for most people, and we have used them for all 15 years of our travel. However, this option is for people who want something that is almost silent, or people who travel in a van (or tow with an SUV) and don’t have a place to safely store a traditional generator and the required fuel. We’re not saying this unit is for everyone, but it is a good power solution for certain people!

That’s all fine until you can’t get gas anymore because no one has any power and it is a prolonged outage. And I get the fact that you seem to have this hatred for hippy energy as is clear in your posts, but I am not interested in these to save the planet. I am more interested in something where I don’t have to keep cycling out stale fuel, worry about how much I can store in my garage and the absolute stench that comes from these gas powered generators. Don’t get me wrong..I own a generac 15K gen and have no intention of getting rid of it. But Your assumption in this current chaotic world that you will always have access to fuel, which is hated by the liberal politicians and attacked constantly is a little misguided. 2 is 1 and 1 is none so have alternatives. 12:40
