This seems to be more of a design flaw than a defect. Some reviewers I've watched all said the same thing, it reports the temperature as lower than it really is so it turns off too soon. They all had to set the temp target lower as a workaround.

You can convert your portable airco by placing an cardbordbox with an 150 MM tube adjusted on it and place it on the bottom where the airco sucks the air in. Move the 150 mm tube to outside and it sucks the inlet air from outside, this airco in he video is basicly that same principle. I use this trick on my portable 7000 Btu portable airco for 5 summers and it works like a charm.

Someone on "CheapRVliving" wrote: I installed a walmart Keystone energy star 5,000 btu window ac in my van and it works great from my Bluetti AC200P and 720 watts of solar. It only draws 360-380 watts when the compressor is running, and 60 watts when it switches to just the fan. In eco mode, the compressor does not run much at all, and my hightop conversion van is ice cold. I paid $200, and I have been on the road full time almost a year with no issues thus far. Lately they are including the ‘car kit’ for free with it. Notice ‘car’ as in one window being used for exhaust and intake… You can easily make your own divider for the exterior to separate the two streams… (make it fancy if you think it will help, like a triangular piece of sheet metal, with curves for each side of course to decrease resistance, etc… lol)

hmmm, 300 watts of cooling power seems like a drop in the bucket trying to cool a tent. This is more suitable for under the blanket cooling. The human body produces about 100 watts of heat already. Plus, it also needs to cool down the area in the tent, so it's like an uphill battle with a tiny device.

@@ToolsElectroDIY On average, the human body produces 100w of heat. It produces over 300w of it during high activities like sports....... If you're confused about using watts, then you can convert it to Joules. The units are different but they're all measures of energy.

For a house or shed, then yes. This is for portability. People use them in their camper van, or for camping in various situations and for very small spaces… and specifically can hook to an ecoflow power station and run off DC-which makes it more efficient… non EF power station will only connect to it by AC (alternating current). And this a/c can be connected to solar panels when equipped with the battery. (And it can be used inversely for heat.) So it’s a niche product, not going to suit those who could instead use a window unit.
