Economy picking made me a much faster player. I developed it after learning that Yngwie uses it. I haven’t developed my descending economy picking yet though because I use a down/up/pull-off technique for 3nps descending

There's a wierd licking technique that Shawn Lane uses. It's a mixture of hybrid picking and economy picking and it's called Swibird picking. Sounds very fluid.

Dude you're picking is smooth as silk. Just wish I could master this technique. For some strange reason my pick keeps getting stuck on the down down but works ok on the up up. I'm edge slanting my pick towards the direction of travel but still no joy.

Hi mate... Been a strict alternate picker for years now, i can sweep pick arpeggios etc but struggling abit with economy picking I've at it constantly now for around a month and its strange some days i can do it fast and otger days not... To the metronome i can't get 16th note triplets out of my mind at around 120bpm so trying to do 16th notes at around 160bpm i can't get the timing for the life of me even starting off slower etc any tips on how to get this nailed... You got it smooth as hell... As I've said before awesome channel and awesome player... Many thanks. Dave. 👌🏻👍🏼
