Hello ecs tuning, I love all your videos, and has helped me a lot, but I have a question I have a golf 6 gti and I want to lower the car in just swapping the springs, but I'm afraid to go brush in the car with the rims I have, I have 2 pairs of wheels for summer and for winter, measures are 225/35r19 8.5 ET42; others are 225/40r18 8.0 ET35. will be possible to lower the car with these rims? Lube the lug nuts/bolts and wheel mounting surfaces? Wouldn't that change the available friction for the wheel? The nuts/bolts hold the wheel onto the surfaces, and it's the friction between those surfaces that provide the force to keep the car suspended and to turn the wheel.

Nice video. But after watching I am still unsure of what to get for my car. I have a 2006 BMW 325i Sedan & I just bought 20 inch wheels (20x8.5"/5x120mm, +35mm offset) backspace 6.1 inches. I was told I might need spacers because I dont have OEM brakes & the aftermarket brakes might rub on the wheels. I was looking at 12mm front 15mm rear spacers but after viewing this I might need something thinner? I really need help, I just want a proper fit with no rubbing. Thanks in advance.

Got a Golf MK5, im getting 19" Audi RS6 alloys (8.5JX19" ET45/ PCD 5X112) what size wheel spacers should I put on the front and backs? to make the wheels either flush with the body or maybe stick out a little? (the car is not lowered and is got the stock springs on) Thanks

They are factory 7.5J x 17 front, 8J x 17 rear and the tire sizes are factory too but the lowered springs are H&R

I have a Porsche Carrera 4 1999 , which I want to install a 19" Rims on my car, I saw a wheels chart that say the maximum offset is 50 and 54 without spacers, but the Rims that I wants say 50 and 55 , my question is do I can install 55 offset on my car? Thanks!

Hi, maybe u can help me out. 2015 civic stock tires 195/65/15. I'm planning to put 15x8 rims with offset +6 using same stock tires 195/65/15. I know the rims will poke out of the fender. I won't do any mods on the suspension as of now. Will the tires hit the fender??? NOTE: Stock tires and stock suspension with wider wheel 15x8 with +6 offset. Thanks

Hello its a very nice information video i have problem with my w211 e320 i changed wheels and used 20 mm spacers for a install my original AMG wheels but before the installation they don't make any clean and don't use anti seize and they make montage spacers with on the rim i have vibration on my steering wheel and its very annoying can you help me please what is the wrong with installation ? what can i do for a cute that annoying vibration? thank you

i have a '99 bmw 323i sports package, no modifications done, just want it stock. I would like to put a 19 inch staggered rims. 19x8.5 - 225/35R19, 19x9.5 - 265/30R19. is this possible on the rear it won't hit the fender? Or just be better of with the 18s. need help.

How does the mk7 flush kit with a wider rear spacer affect handling? I would imagine it increases understeer? I want to get these, but I love the GTI's lift-off oversteer.

For the front, if your turning a corner then the wheel is going to come out from under the fender, and possibly the two come in contact. how do you calculate how low you can go to avoid this?

George Kershaw with your wheel on the car and no spacer, turn the wheel all the way out to either side and measure distance from the edge of the fender well to the edge of the amount of the tire that protrudes out. You measure this from the top of the tire and then factor that into measurement for the spacer you need. It'll tell you how much extra the wheel will poke out during a turn and you can use that to make sure you can clear the fender well when turning sharp

OK, hopefully I don't get too beat up for asking this, but I guess knowledge is power. I was wondering if I can knock out wheel studs, tap threads into the holes, and use wheel bolts like VW. I am asking because I want to put custom wheels on my car, but it is hard to find them used with my lug pattern (5x108). Also space is limited so I would need to use a thin adapter to change my pattern to 5x114.3.

heck no you don't want to tap wheel stud holes. The threads will not be nearly as strong.
