Well said. I send my clients ones off for Bench flashes but the same thing - to specialist places that have huge data on the dyno from those bikes. And all of them are told and have been for years - it's a Ballpark - nothing beats custom.

It's the truth. I had a mail map from one of the tuners in the states for $500. The bike was a dog. Had a dyno map from parkitt, the bike is a gem. Roll on!

Agree with all of your arguments. I speak the language of process control, and what are sources of variation on the jon in manufacturing. So glad to find a fellow who values empirical data. I am an owner/rider/maintainer of a few vintage bikes, and have a modern bike (new to me) with significant changes from stock and an unknown state of flash and tune.

It's funny I've stumbled across this video! Just picked up an MT10, which has been decated, stock headers with lextek stubby thing. Feels like a massive hole in the mid range so was looking at a postal map to do just what you've suggested, get in the ball park before I can find time to travel for a custom (I'm in south wales)
