Let's be honest here. Some will not appreciate this album, but those who've been with Ed since his first album "+" knew he came back to his roots in songwriting. This is a PHENOMENAL album.

I’ve always liked his music but never been a “fan” per se & I’m in love with this album. It’s come along at the perfect time in my life & so many of the songs speak to my own life experiences. All that to say this album appeals to more people than just his OG fans, he’s definitely found a new fan in me

Veronica I love this song for the music and the lyrics. But what he says about easy come easy go: people always say they want to leave a legacy that people will remember. People don't remember - when you are gone, you're gone. Nobody thinks about you and remember what you did - except for a few close loved ones. Who remembers Michael Jackson - one of the biggest pop stars ever? His legacy is all but forgotten. So the meaning in your life must be something else. And Ed refers to that in one of his other songs "Supermarket Flowers": his mother went to be with God. Ultimately that is where we go if we accepted the Saviour Jesus. Do't miss the most important thing in our lives.

Ed's music has always spoken to me on a deep level, but this song was released hours after my father passed and a day before my birthday. Thank you for giving me a little joy. My dad's last gift was to send me to see him in concert in Denver in August. Can't wait

@laurienelson There are no words to express how deep my sorrow is for you, and I can't imagine what you are going through. I truly believe that God has a way of working sometimes that we will probably never understand, and with you I believe he did something heartbreaking in a horrible but also beautiful way. Music seems to mean a lot to you and Ed is perhaps very special to you as an artist so having your Dad give you this gift for August is something special. And this song in particular, and Eyes Closed, I believe was meant for you to help you navigate through this. This song and the fact your Dad got you a ticket to see Ed after his passing is God's way of allowing your Dad to talk to you directly. Your Dad's way of saying I'm here, I'm with you, you can get through this, life goes on. Sending my love and condolences to you and everyone affected by your Dad's passing. You and everyone else going through hard times will be in my prayers tonight. Keep strong and God bless you.

I just lost my mother, the day before Mother's Day. This song touched every raw nerve in that perfect comforting way. Such beautiful work. She loved his music and we listened to it together often. This will be playing for her when she is laid to rest this week.

I lost both of my parents within 6 months of each other. Its been 5 years now, but luckily it does get easier. I just had a baby recently and it just pains me to know that she will never meet grandma, but i will make sure she knows everything about her. I wish you all the best. Sending you love and light.

Very good depiction of the pain of losing someone you love. It is, at first, like a gaping wound, raw, painful, and feels like it will never heal. Time does not heal it...time allows you to get used to how to live without them.

Lost my grandma this year, last may 27th, couldn´t be there for her farewell because I lived in a different country now. She was the best person I've ever met, the kindest woman. I was lucky to grow by her side, my heart broke the moment I knew she passed, and I wasn't there, now I have to learn to live without her, with hurt heart, knowing that when I go to her house to visit, she won't be there. This song hits right to the heart for those who have lost someone they loved. Hope all of you there can find comfort at some point, and live a life that make you, and the person you loved so deeply, very proud. I know I'll try... my dear grandma will be proud.

from how much greatness is embedded in his throat..if you look at the number of views on the songs of this album you see that they all have almost the same number of views..meaning you can't just stop listening..if you play one song you'll play them all..one song isn't enough!

I hope you are doing well now. My wife that i was with since i was 17 left me after 21 years of being together. It was 6 months after both of my parents died. I was devastated. After that everything started to come together. I met an amazing woman, lost 100 pounds, and got a job paying me double than my previous one. Sometimes the end is just the beginning. As long as you learn from the experience, nothing is lost. I wish you all the best.

As Ed clearly shows carrying that weight, drags me to very emotional place in my heart. Thinking of and missing my family members, who even when they passed away years ago - I'm actually in bed today with those special yet saddest of memories.
