Can you guys chill? This song would suck if the tuning was in the regular tuning. He has to tune it down to DADGAD to make it sound perfect! It's not Ed Sheeran's fault he can play guitar amazingly.

What are you people on about? He sings with his heart on his sleeve. His older material sometimes comes out a little flat, but what do you expect when he's performed it thousands of times? Even the older material on the whole he summons it up to perform. Just listen to it again. What you may have picked up is he's tuned his guitar down a bit to save his voice. He might've been a bit sick when he did this performance. New record, new tour... he's probably a little under the weather and needs to look after himself, but this is still a great performance.

I'm not saying it's a bad performance altogether, just that the different guitar tuning is a bit distracting. I don't see that as being a negative comment?

It's all good, Max! Water under the bridge now. Thank you for sharing your opinion. I do admit that many give negative comments about his performances in general. Probably just them finding fault to not like him.

Good ear for pitch. His guitar isn't off, he might have tuned it down to save his voice. He's probably feeling a bit under the weather. New tour, new record and all.

Max Davenport good point! he does play around on how he tunes his guitar. It's just a little unusual since this is a song that although is new I think he already mastered playing it live. It takes some time to get use to that different sound.

it could be that you are used to the album version wich he playes without a capo :) allthough he did seem to have a bit of trouble with the highest notes so maybe it is what max was saying.

The album version is played without a capo in DADGAD (as far as I know), I don't think it's tuned any different, just this version has a capo on 2nd. Don't mean to get all technical, I just learnt how to play it and noticed the same thing :)

Are you referring specifically to this performance or the new album as a whole? Either way I'm inclined to agree, just wondering. Some of the lyrics seem like they exist solely to get a response and he doesn't actually feel them to the extent they are projected. But it's good, just not his best.
