He sings the words with the sweetness thereof. Delicate and so so sad and so honoring of life. Ah, the Irish know and show.

A beautiful and soulful rendition of this lovely old folk song. Will love it to be sung in my funeral or wake.

I have it in my funeral plans that this is played. I'm only 61 and hopefully it will be a while, but I love this song so much, I don't want my family to forget about it.

Celtic Woman still has the best Parting Glass performance on record, High kings a close second. This was good but I feel it was overly drawn out to try to force it to sound more emotional and it didn't do it for me.

this may sound funny to some but, Jesus said to me "this song could have been sung at the last supper." it made me laugh
@francette193802 жыл бұрын
Oh, Absolutly ! I totally agree. The lyrics were written by Robert Burns in 1786 from an old irish tune. The drawing of lot has fallen on this young man. He is ordered to go to war the very next morning.
@lynnenewell20162 жыл бұрын
What I find funny is that you believe Jesus speaks directly to you. I have faith and I pray, but if Jesus spoke directly to me, I believe I would be in a corner pissing myself and probably have a heart attack. It is not my sins I fear. I will face mine as I we all will. It’s facing the one who died for me and who was I to get such a gift?!

Ending of AC4 was emotional and awesome...except for the glitch which ruined my emotion and made me laugh. Just play the ac4 ending on youtube and look around 0:28-0:31 just before you see your pirate friends. you will send "something" (i won't tell you what it is) that is not meant to be in the background "fly" pass on the right side.

Evidently. Go listen to Hozier or The Voice Squad or the Dubliners for God's sake and stop praising this nonsense. He's not a folk singer and this is at the heart of Irish folk music full stop.

What is this song about? Why is it so important?
@sunereensennin71393 ай бұрын
It's a story about edward kenway lost almost all of his comrades along the way in his pursuit of happiness. Then he got what he want but for what cost? He stormed through every enemy's obstacles with his friends. After they almost succeedhe took his time to look behind yet no one was there. They can't make it

Maybe English is not so bad ... I had to learn this language to find a job, not because I liked it like French or Spanish, but maybe it's not so awful...

I've just listened to it, but actually I still think Ed's version is better, for me it's more emotional, nostalgic and passionate, maybe because of the music background and whole arrangement. Tullamore Dew's version has a great doze of beautiful and strong voice but still Ed's version seems more magical to me.

It’s not about the voice ,it’s about the haunting soul.I don’t think it matters who sings it a blind man going by on a donkey could give it meaning and purpose

@@laurencefarrell2775Give me a break pal. If you want to know what it should sound like listen to Hozier or The Voice Squad or the Dubliners. This man should stay well away from Irish folk/traditional music and stop playing light with our cultural heritage. He simply doesn't have a voice for this stuff. End of.
