Never met Craig but for those who might have a go. He’s a NUFC fan since he as a kid but through hard work and a bit of talent has made a career as the Daily Mail footy man in the NE. I think, of course, the pressure will intensify if we lose today, but for me, Eddie has the rest of the season and another pop at next season, even if we get hammered off Villa and city too. Yes when the draw was made I was very confident we would make short work of Sunderland. However this last 5-6 weeks has seen a disastrous run of form. Our players look permanently jaded. Newcastle are probably performing like a mid table premier league team with a few vulnerabilities and Sunderland will give 100% but I suspect the difference in quality in each box will probably determine the game. On the recent performances I think Newcastle have just looked too open on transition and a bit naive whereas last year it was the opposite - if you remember last year Spurs away Newcastle schooled them with a street-wise away performance and that’s something you haven’t seen this year. Eddie and his staff will be working hard behind the scenes trying to put things right and build some confidence and belief I’m sure. It’s a funny game football and confidence is very very fragile. I'd love to see some actual numbers with regards ffp and, in particular, a comparison with, say, Chelsea. For all his many, many faults, Ashley didnt lumber us with debt. We have 50k fans every week. It's still good that the 2022/2023 squad will be able to get to the top 4 of the EPL and the Carabao Cup final. The current squad from Dan Ashworth's purchase is all low quality, no wonder there are only 18 matches left, still in position number 9 with only 29 points, how can we catch the top 4. With the condition of the club like this, Eddie Howe and Dan Ashworth have clearly damaged the trust of the big sponsors, they will run away if he is not fired, it will be a loss for PIF in the business of buying Newcastle United. PIF has been kind enough to give freedom to buy top players at any price, as long as it complies with EPL rules, but unfortunately Eddie Howe and Dan Ashworth squandered that trust,.
