Eddie Jones always has this, 'Ive got an ace up my sleeve' mentality. It's like, 'don't worry about today's performance because ultimately we will deliver!' It just allows him to justify each loss every week. He could lose 100-0 and he'd still be telling everybody to watch out.

Many, many teams, over the last 100 years, have held great aspirations and dreams of besting the All Blacks, but when their sprigs hit the field they are sadly faced with the inevitable and sobering reality; that they are suddenly in a battle with the greatest rugby team to have ever laced up a pair of boots.

Australian rugby made a huge mistake by taking Eddie back. The team has gone backwards. WELL DONE ABs. WELL PLAYED. Thought Aussie played well in patches. And IF they can string more patches together they will compete well with most BUT they'll need to put MUCH more of those patches together AND get some scoreboard pressure happening to overcome the big boys. BUT NZ Played well even when defending for long periods. And as Eddie said they stayed patient when they needed to be but ruthless when the tide changed just a little. Definitely defense is working well. We scored some good tries without being (I think) quite as sharp as the past 2 weeks evidenced by a lot more unforced errors. And not quite as dominant a start (although the early try was a bonus). But the game isn't won without doing the grunt work so again - well done. It's easy for us armchair critics to be critical but hopefully you get some well earnt praise for a great start to the World Cup. We'll done and good luck.

I was very pleased to see the All Blacks be patient when inside the oppositions 22. They built huge numbers of phases, looked after the ball and didn't worry if they had to go 20 phases. Smart play. Same kind of thing in defense. Patience and a strong belief in their systems worked. That game proved to me that the coaching set up which has changed, is headed in the right direction. I believe they will be very competitive at WRC.

Very impressive with the way the all blacks kept the convicts from scoring for the last 72 mins and 40 seconds of the game I made $30,000 tonight thanks to you Eddie. Not to mention that rennie was making headway with the team (close loss to you guys and 1 point loss to France last year with a weaker side than was fielded for this match). But yes, australias issues are in the grassroots/academy level and the absence of a competition underneath super level. Maybe also too many super teams at the moment. Too many players resting on their laurels in starting positions with no internal competition pushing them to be better.

To be fair, I think we'll see a very different Wallabies team in 4 years time. Look at how the ABs transitioned since 2019 - what a rollercoaster it's been and now they're starting to peak again at the perfect time. I believe Eddie knows something about team management and is playing the long game with a very different style of coaching to his 2003 era style.
