That man wrote the soundtrack to the best times of my life. First saw him at the US festival in 1983 when I was 15. I have wrestled with the fact that I cried more when Edward passed than I did when my father died. I was very close to my father but the contribution Ed made to my life is arguably greater! RIP EVH.

He put his heart and soul into everything he played and truly enjoyed what he did and his fans reaction. If you watch closely he never stops smiling. He is missed by all whose lives he touched with his music.

This is the most 1978 reaction I've ever seen to this video. We all relate. 🤣 You heard right, that was the opening for Mean Streets. In fact this whole solo, although called Eruption is made up of several different riffs from well known VH songs. Eruption is definitely in there, but it's strewn about with other songs. Cathedral is the one he's playing with the volume knob. It's a short instrumental and a really beautiful song if you want to check out the whole thing. You definitely should also check out the album version of Eruption. It's only about 2 minutes, but it's fire.

He did that feedback scream at the end of his solo when I saw VH in concert outdoors, about 250 feet from the stage, and it was PAINFULLY LOUD! People say only bad musicians play loud to cover up their weak playing. VH is the prime exception to that theory. Cannot play it loud enough.. Great reaction! Subbed instantly. Go through their whole catalogue and enjoy the greatest of all time.

Growing up as a child and only country music was played around the house and thought that's all there was until a friend put on one of the early albums and I had a reaction just like you. It was like a drug and could not get enough of Eddie. Bought my first guitar at 15 now 55 and still cant play his stuff. Not a day since he has passed I haven't heard a song or watched a video. There will be not another guitarist with his talent ever again. The GOAT

I saw this concert in Little Rock, AR, in 1986. You should do yourself a favor and get this concert on DVD "Live Without a Net" or KZfaq, if you can find one with good audio quality and full concert.

She was 17 when it was recorded. (hard as hell on piano, thought impossible on guitar)

By adjusting the volume and operating the fretboard it down plays the front iof the note and amplifies the ending of the note...basically. I'm sure someone can explain it better. RIP EDDIE! 🥰😭🥰

You used a word that I've not heard anyone use describing EVH. "Innovative" . Let me say I don't know shit about a guitar. But I saw an interview with Eddy, they asked him what he does for fun or in his spare time ( something like that) he said he tinkers with guitars. He said " I get shocked a lot". I believe either in that interview or another article I read somewhere that he devised a way that you could use the whammy bar without throwing your guitar out of tune.
