Big mistake! Ederson can’t be replaced at this moment in time. Your comments about fans complaining about Ederson’s shot-stopping, that’s only been from either a loud minority or fans who don’t understand the City system. I’ve always backed Ederson and I’m so disappointed in how it seems all the fan hate might’ve gotten to him. Ortega is barely half the keeper Ederson is. He might deserve to be first choice, but not at City. We’ve always needed a distribution keeper first and foremost, a shot-stopper is a step back to the likes of Hart, which is outdated and don’t belong in modern football.

Point is the Arabia league is a huge threat to City and the Premier League. This is what happens when you place too many restrictions on clubs ability to afford players against a rival that doesn't have restrictions, who can afford to pay what they like.

There is just no way City is going to spend more money than what they shall have got from the sales of Eddie when Ortega is already in the team. That's a poor business. There's no perfect goalkeeper so they should spread that money to othe parts of the team which need strengthening. Football is a team game, so having a very good goalkeeper with poor defense doesn't help otherwise Porto would have won Champions League.

Do you know the goalkeeper who won Real Madrid the Laliga title and Champions League? I am sure not many people even remember his name. You don't spend too much money to buy a goalkeeper when you already have a goalkeeper. Chelsea tried it with many expensive goalkeepers and won nothing instead they were stuck with goalkeepers they couldn't sell. Let's support Ortega and get money from Eddie and use the money to strengthen other areas like midfield and fullbacks.

I hear you on Ortega....but that FA cup performance impacted his image and unfortunately it occurred at the end of the season so it's a lasting memory. Personally I think that goal turned the table on that game and while Gvardiol made the bone headed defense play....Ortega as the goalie should have communicated and controlled that situation...that to say I don't think Ortega is a bad #1 but he now carries baggage...I'm more concerned that we have Carson on the bench.

I see Ortega as one of the best in the world and overall better than Diogo Costa. While Costa is a great shot stopper, I've been watching him in the Eruos and is very poor at distribution. Ortega does shot stopping just as well and has a better distribution. Ortega as number 1 is the choice. Fabrizio just confirmed that City will give him the number 1 spot if Ederson leaves.

Been losing confidence in City board since last summer and now theyre at it again with Ederson. £30m for him with 2yrs to go? Are they serious? That’s about as stupid as the roughly £30m for letting Mahrez go last summer. If you’re going to let a prime player go, okay, cool. But at least do it at a price to facilitate a suitable replacement. What will £30m buy? Nothing even close to Ederson’s level just like the £30m we got for Mahrez was a joke bc we couldn’t find any winger remotely close to his 28GA output for that price. Maybe City is slowing turning into a football charity? (Clearly being facetious, but it does beg the question…)
