On penalties, free kicks and shots, neuer is as good as anyone. But it's in those one on one situations where he proves himself to be the best. And add that to his sweeping skills

It’s because he has the best hip mobility of any keeper ever. He has the ability to almost perfect split in the air which gives him a massive advantage in 1 on 1’s.

From this list, I concluded that all other GKs performed amazing but Neuer is a diamond. He performs great not in simple matches but also in under pressure matches. Just imagine that u r the captain of a team playing in UCL final. Already there is a huge pressure on u as a captain and then too, you saves 2 90% scoring shots of opposition from which one is of Neymar. It is a very great achievement

Neuer is a great shot-stopper, and a stunning one-on-one goalie, but it's how he affects the overall game that makes him the most important goalkeeper of the last decade. Bayern couldn't play a high line so effectively without his particular style of playing. He is involved in every single play they make.

@@vedanthnair5443 Goalies retire late because they usually don't need to run, sprint and tackle all the time. We don't know when Ter Stegen will take over. Neuer could be at the top for the next 5 years.

Stegen would've played the nation's League but he got a surgery done, feel bad, he doesn't get a lot of chances. Crazy how he played such a good season with a light injury

@one indian boy Neuer will probably play till 38-40 considering his fitness and normally GK play a little longer. TG would be 33-34 by that time. That's too late for debut.

Goalies don't retire until their late thirties, early forties because the role is less physical. 34 is old for Messi and Ronaldo because they're outfield players and they need to be running constantly. You clearly know nothing about football if you think 34 is too old for a GK.

@one indian boy he is the captain of the NT and still performing on a top level, why would he ever step down to become 2nd choice keeper? Germany always had an abundance of goalkeepers, even keepers like Jens Lehmann made their debut as Germany 1st choice very late in their careers. It is not cruel, it is just competition.
