Ingredients
2 red onions, 2 yellow onions, 2 fennels, 250 ginger, 2 bulbs of garlic, 7 spring onions, 1 green pepper, 2 cups of desiccated coconut, 1 cup Shrimp powder, 2 cups of Herring powder, Oil, 1tbs OMB Fish seasoning, 1 tbs shito spice blend, Parsley, salt to taste

Hello Mama Betty, I told you I was going to try this recipe... I just did and I’m so pleased I did... it’s one of the best if not the best shito recipes I’ve tried .. the fennel and roasted desiccated coconut with the tarragon and most of all your spice blends take this shito to a whole different level.. I hope others try this recipe!! You’ve got to try it to know it ❤️❤️❤️

Mama Betty, Is there a particular type of blender that you used to blend your ingredients? I'm asking because you asked to use oil to blend our ingredients instead of water to shorten the cooking time which I thought is a great idea. However, yesterday I used oil to blend my ingredients and my blender blowed up smoke started coming from the motor and it stopped working. I'm thinking it's not every blender one can use oil. So my question is, is there a blender that allows for oil to be used? Which kind do you use?Please advise, thank you.

No they have the non sugary ones, if you want instead of the desiccated onions use a coconut oil

Thanks a lot but there's something that baffles me. The shito is cooked to allow moisture in it to evaporate. WHY THEN SHOULD YOU COVER IT OCCASIONALLY DURING THE COOKING?
