There will never be another singer who sings from every tragedy in her short visit to Earth. Never born, never died. Just a visitor from another place!:-)

Edith Piaf is an uplifting story for how to deal with life's cruelty at its most offering. Her zest for life and love is tears jerking and the beauty of her soul is a great lesson to those who know what love for life is. Her songs, sad as they may be, is a great medicine for good souls. I love her soul, her voice, and am ever grateful for what she taught me how precious and fragile life is

She let's you know, in her song, no regrets, that she lived her life on her terms, and she wouldn't have changed a thing.

i have never been a fun to anyone, but i feel Edith Piaf has got an indeed true & good soul as well as cruelty taught by the street-life........i think we have no right to make any judge on her life if we have never tried to live on streets with no-one whom rely on.....i also think onstage she could be equal to herself, otherwise she was unable to give as well as to receive real love because of her strong anxiety rooted by her childhood experiences..........i am indeed honoured to listen to her

You're of course entitled to your opinion, but I think that for most of her life she was pretty attractive. Yeh, maybe in her final years she aged pretty quickly, but for the most part I think she was a beauty.

The shame is that this lovely documentary doesn't acknowledge the work Edith carried out through the war helping 168 french POW's escape through her visits to Germany...

Her life reminds of what was said about the Legion, they are romantic because they are tragic, and tragic because they are romantic.

Edith knew how to love & love wholly! She left her men whenever she came to terms with the fact that their reciprocity in love was but a fraction of hers! Why waste more time & energy over them! She was an exceptional & passionate poet for those who care to embody her intense lyrics. France did not value her enough! The world was too ignorant to give her full value. They prefer the Trashy Madonna & her likes!

I feel sorry for you, Bianca. You have no idea who she was or why the passing years since her death will only burnish her legend. I wonder if you ever really listened to songs like "No Me Quitti Pas" : She was simply...unique.

To answer you: I wonder because I'm curious about her & because I damn well please. Whether or not she was born French, whats brutal & filthy about not being French by birth but being patriotic to France? What is so brutal & filthy about this? There are many people of a certain nationality that adopt another. Please answer my questions with something valid and not some over emotional accusatory rant. "thank you"

“Milord” is emphatically not about a Parisian prostitute.... she is neither specified as so and could even have been a waitress in the café where they met. Am I naïve? Perhaps.....saying that is pure sensationalism for shock value.

After watching this biography, I've concluded that she was a garbage human being. She abandoned her two year old daughter to pursue a career as a singer. In addition, she went through men like she was putting on a pair of socks. She seemed selfish, crazy, and loose. I have no idea how anyone can watch this biography and have positive thoughts of her as a person. Her only redeeming quality was that she made a beautiful song and had a nice voice.

You fucking sap 🤣🤣 I can't even comment on this ridiculous observation without laughing 🤣 ffs
@annasofiabarela8352 Жыл бұрын
in my opinion she did not fully abandon marcelle,she only spent some time away from her to focus on singing because the only job that provided her some money, so i get her in some way haha. she was very very young when she had her and Edith never had a good maternal role to look up to, since her own mother did abandon her and tried to get adventage of her many times, plus the fact they never entablished a relationship. i understand her to be honest, for her the only thing that sostained her and her real love was music, the only thing that she felt would never abandon her. the thing is , as she was very young i believe she didn´t fully understood what having a child meant, but the thing for sure is that deep inside her she cared and loved her kid, she always had her in mind and she aspired to someday have more children again, but she it was too late when she realized she couldn´t have children anymore. haha, Edith needed nothing but really long sessions of therapy. it would have been super curious! i know psychologists are not meant to reveal things from their patients but it would have been so curious to see what passed on her mind.

I just can't imagine how this very plain and very unattractive super short woman got so much attention from men? It's beyond me. Defin. In her 40's and her later 40's she looked so, so, so, soooooooo old, like a woman of 60 plus 70 years old. She looked terribly old although still rather young in age. Maybe the abuse from over drinking and little sleep had become her demise. Who know what else she abused. She was probably also very insecure and lonely and unstable really. That's why she could not stand to be alone, to be with herself only. I like though the grittiness and also romance of the streets that's in her voice.

In addition to leading a fascinating well-traveled life, she was very very very rich and had connections to make her aspiring young men stars when she would. And she inspired the musically talented ones to write hit songs, too.

I think that's the difference between today and back then, beauty or beauty by "society's" standards. We are blasted with what is considered beautiful through media damn near every second of the day, you can't turn on a screen without being dictated to. What I think appealed to so many of these men was that she was such a powerhouse, so small yet she depended on no one and had ambition/drive/passion enough for 20 people. She literally came from nothing and conquered. You don't meet someone like that every day, she was a talent to them beyond imagining. Having the kind of standing she did with the public would be seductive in of itself to any man, probably many women too. On a side note I'm not surprised to see this is what you got from the documentary, all the superficial stuff and none of her achievements as a woman in that time not to mention in a time of war. Again people today see the beauty they are told to see and credit little to nothing else.
