He is of the most important players on this team. When he's on his game he's one of the best power forwards in the entire NHL. We need you Evander. Gotta find you're groove asap.
@a.30862 ай бұрын
Most important? He's 3rd line and for the remainder of the game after Perry tuned him up, he was 4th line. This is the second instance of Kane getting "talked" to by the players recently. Last time he was a healthy scratch the next game. He's got skills and can be good, but he has a history with other teams he's played for of turning into a cancer, and because he doesn't correct it, he ends up getting moved. If he doesn't improve, I wouldn't be surprised if Holland asks Kane to waive his NMC.

@@a.3086this team needs snipers and he is one. His past should stay in the past. He has a chance to put all these distractions behind him and make his line the most important in the playoffs regardless of how it’s numbered.
@mithex84142 ай бұрын
@@a.3086 are u forgetting how dominant he was the last 2 years for us. did that all just go away in ur head. He had 11 goals in the playoffs in 21/22

@@mithex8414 He played on the first or second line with Connor or Drai, big difference. Look at Hyman, 50 goal year on Connor's line. This is about his attitude not his past numbers. I like the guy, but there is a reason for what's happening and it has everything to do with Kane's attitude and lazy play sometimes. The word is that he's not happy with his decreased ice time and that he's not on the top lines. Time for him to suck it up and play better or another teammate may be having another "discussion" with him on the bench.

Seeing that between him and Perry was actually a bit refreshing. It shows they care and want to win. Great interview 👍🏼

I agree. And the fact that Kane wasn't rolling his eyes or ignoring Perry, he was listening and respected him, that made me not worry about it. Now they squash it with the media, and can move on.
@manofx58242 ай бұрын
What gets me is all the BS articles saying "oh no, Evander's worn out his welcome with another team" It was nothing with Draisaitl and it was nothing with Perry. This is competitive, intense hockey. Emotions happy. I want Kane with an edge and a little pissed off. I hope he realizes, regardless of how the back half of the season has gone for him, that he is critical to the Oilers winning a Cup. He's a very unique player that can have a huge impact on a game.

Kane is a top 6 player and that is where he should be slotted. Most fans have been thrilled with his addition to the team That should not change. Watch him go in the play-offs. That is when he really thrives and performs. I love the way he plays the game. He and Perry are a lot alike in that respect. They are all business on the ice. Love it.

Evander is a fan favourite. On great teams, players hold each other accountable and push one another to be better. It's a highly competitive atmosphere. This team is better with Kane and Perry on it. Clearly, these guys want to win--and winning means something to them--so we have to cut these guys some slack when this kind of thing happens. A little fire in the belly sometimes comes out the snout. Ask any dragon. It happens.

His whole interview was about him and arguing with team mates. Kane is very open and real, he doesn’t care if it happens in public. But this media to keep shoving in his face is why Players HATE playing in Canada.. They have strong emotions before playoffs, they are going to keep getting more intense. No need for media to try make something out of nothing. 🤦♂️

Corey Perry watched Evander Kane start the Comeback early this year that SAVED THE SEASON..between Kane who started the engine and Mcdavid with 4-5 point games who followed suit and then Leon then Boosh they all went Supernova off of that spark....well those first 2 guys really did spark the spinaround....so Kane has earned his bones in this Junkyard already and it looks like Perry is starting to earn his, but dont ever think Evander has to take a backseat on this Oilers team and always remember that Corey Perry is a very elder respected NHLer especially by Players like Evander....I would have taken it like Evander did with just a few soft pushbacks....only from Perry....I would not suggest anyone else besides an Elder Statesman like Perry or Papa clutch ever try that again with Evander because he now has respected his Elder and if anyone lesser tries to push his buttons they might take a few Hot n Spicy words. Now lets get ready to play some real meaningful NHL Hockey. Kane will score at least 1 Series clinching goal I bet.
