I like to apply the Haas effect to tracks where ping-pong delay isn't appropriate, i.e. for percussion loops. I don't use a second FX chain, though. I just unlink the delay times and set L to 0 and R to around 10ms. Another important thing would be to check mono compatibility after applying the effect. If you're in bad luck and chose a delay time that equals half the wave length of your sound, it would disappear almost completely in mono. On top of that, if the track has melodic content but the delay stays fixed, some notes may even be quieter than others. It's unlikely to happen for sure, but it's still worth checking.

align delay is an ableton default plugin which does exactly this

Haas causing phaselike issues in mono. I wouldnt recommend it

100% agree, sounds great as an effect, but it will absolutely ruin your mix on so many different systems. You may as well tell someone new to mixing to invert the phase of one channel for "awesome stereo" : )

If the correlation meter is showing that everything is ok, then it’s ok and vice-versa.

AVOID !! The Haas effect sounds great as an effect, but it will absolutely ruin your mix on so many different systems due to excessive phase cancellation, avoid it at all costs ! If you were to ask someone to design a process that would damage your mix - but the damage would remain hidden from you as you mix in stereo - it would be the Haas effect . . . and what makes it worse is that it sounds really nice on certain elements, so someone new to mixing will be only too happy to use it everywhere.
