Learn how to make interesting chords and chord progressions in 10 minutes. This video will show you how…even if you don’t know any music theory. If you want even more unique chord progression tips, download the Chord Bible (FREE) here: bit.ly/3uZ3kQz
Scales, intervals, triads, chord inversions, sustained chords, seventh chords, sub chords can all sound really confusing, and writing chord progressions can seem like a dark art. In this video I explain EXACTLY what those terms mean ≠ and how to use them to create amazing chord progressions every time you open the DAW.

I’m crap at explaining things so copy and paste it is. The I-V-vi-IV progression is a common chord progression popular across several genres of music. So that’s a chord progression as you know there is a lot more and all create a different tension/emotion

Man just discovered you channel. I litterally spent 3hours looking at your videos on production, on mixing etc.... Really really well done contente! Mature approache, great teaching skills to share liquid gold to artists, producers and engineers in the most easy going way possible. A good teacher is the one that is able to explain complexe concepts to the most novice person ( able to dumb it down as some say), YET without losing the most crutial details out. You sir have reached a stage over the years of doing your videos where you have gained so much confidence that you truely are a great teacher, BRAVO and keep it up maestro ! Hope to spend more time checking your other videos and also to see new ones pop out. Cheers mate, DAM

Thank you for all the hard work. Ive been producing for 20 years now, but Im the tech guy/engineer/sound designer. Over covid I really understood that I needed to learn theory and play piano. Your content here just fllled in a lot of blanks for me and I appreciate your effort. Without producers and music technicians like you I don;t think Id be moving so fast to realizing myself as a true musician. Big up.

Always appreciate EDM tips, but would be nice to see this with something other than all the white notes, which is where I guess most people are struggling with the concept. Some of us poor people have DAW's that don't have thw ability to filter out scales (Reason.....). Just imho. Top content as always Sir!

Great! Brilliant video, as usual. It's probably better to call it an Am+9 at 2:55. B is both the second note and the ninth, but since the third isn't being replaced by the second it's more common to think in extensions (7, 9, 11 etc) rather than suspensions (2nd, 4th etc). It's Am+9 rather than just Am9 because the latter would mean that the seventh is also in the chord, so it's +9.

There is nothing diminished about the last chord in the first example, it's a basic dominant chord, V chord of the scale(major chord with a flat 7th) typical for building tension. Very common in jazz or blues. In jazz when it's resolving to I chord, as in II V I progression, or in Blues when whole progression I IV V is based upon dominant chords.
@jhdrummer4815
@jhdrummer4815 2 жыл бұрын
Agree with that, but really depends by song to song and purpose of some chords. Sometimes just a simple triad can be even better than more complex chords, depending by the part of the song and arrangements/sounds used on the given part.
