Sometimes the bass plays a different root to the rest of the tschord, thus modifying the tschord drastically.

For me it's usually trying to figure out what type of chords to use in each song. Haven't thought to start with the bass line before. 🤔🤔🤔

Problem with starting with the bass is it might sound good whilst it's just a bass line but when you turn them into chords they might not work well together, inversions only help so much.
