The Edox CO-1 Carbon Chronographs, the “Offshore Instruments” from the CO-1 Collection, were produced for the brand’s partnership with Team Australia in X-CAT Racing or Extreme Catamaran Racing, a powerboat racing event.
Team Australia’s powerboat pilots for the 2019 X-CAT world championship are Pal Virik Nilsen and Brett Luhrmann who will compete in the number 8 boat named “The Blue Roo”.
This probably explains the 45mm Edox CO-1 Carbon Chronograph featuring a blue bezel, the blue luminescence on the hour indexes and hands. Even the case sides have touches of blue.
The material used is made from a ceramic layer forged in resin with strains of black carbon and glass fibers, as disclosed by the brand, adding that such a material is more resistant to scratches and general wear-and-tear as compared with normal carbon.
Four coloured variants of the Edox CO-1 Carbon Chronograph were first launched: in blue, red, grey and gold.

What we like is how the brand has paid attention to small details such as the luminescence on the sweep seconds hand, the central chronograph seconds hand and the hour and minute hands on the chronograph counters.
Priced at EUR2,980 at the time of launch (November 2018), these chronographs have added a new dimension to the brand’s CO-1 Collection.
