Hi! thanks for the video. I will add a note, Since the direct costs of issuing stock like, underwriting, legal, accounting and tax Fees are not be recognized as expense, they must be adjusted to with the additional paid in capital, and eventually they will reduce the additional paid in Capital.

Nice and simple explanation My teacher taught me to get the apic we should multiply the amount of issued share by the issued price- par value so 20,000 x(35-0.01) = 699,800. same thing but your method is simpler

What kind of account is APIC? Would it be an equity, asset or contra asset?

I have a confusion here regarding the terminology. Shouldn't this be Additional Received in Capital (ARIC) instead of APIC? As this is a term shown in the financial statement of company. If you look from company's perspective, it is receiving this much (extra) money for the shares issued/sold to the stock holders.
