This presentation will provide an overview of the education for all handicapped children act, aka public law 94 -142. PL 94-142 includes the idea of FAPE which is a free and appropriate public education for all students with special needs. Other topics include the idea of the least restrictive environment, LRE. Some have called this law the backbone of special education. This law was later reauthorized in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 1990 which offers more protections for special needs students. I encourage educators to share this video with their students as I believe it will help them succeed academically.
