When Edward Snowden shared USA intelligence documents with journalists in June 2013, he revealed the shocking extent of global mass surveillance.
He showed how governments were secretly hoovering up huge chunks of our personal communications, including private emails, phone locations, web histories and so much more. All without our consent.
His courage changed the world. He sparked a global debate, changing laws and helping to protect our privacy. For the first time in 40 years, the USA passed laws to control government surveillance. Globally, technology companies including Apple and WhatsApp are now doing more to protect our personal information.
None of this would have happened without Edward Snowden. A former US Attorney General admitted that Snowden’s revelations “performed a public service”. Even President Obama said that this debate about surveillance “will make us stronger”.
Edward Snowden is a human rights hero. Yet he faces decades in prison, accused of selling secrets to enemies of the USA. With no guarantee of a fair trial in his home country, he is living in limbo in Russia.

Snowden is morally right, not a traitor. You do not have to ask for forgiveness. apologize for accusing him unjustly.....

Even though he did steal classified documents from the NSA (which definitely deserves to be forgiven), Edward Snowden did it to expose something more illegal, something on a global scale. He is a hero.

I totally agree with this man I am a veteran a disabled veteran and when they file it My First Amendment rights on a medical ward I got 35 years in the medical field more of a tactical end of it okay I don't like with dark was doing to my brothers and sisters in the Marines making super soldiers that's why Hitler was doing and at the same time I've been working on computers before the computer was the computer on aircraft carriers that's why they call me mr. Fix it and my family is IBM but I'm not grateful for what's happened to people like him or me to America's that do the right thing and the government is corrupt MK Ultra and I still using and I people American Psychiatric association giving thumbs up to it I don't think so another using a lot of state-level 12 American hospitals. Half a million Americans die every year due to psych meds schools getting shot up like Florida and the FBI knows about a 3 years before more people died on psych meds in 4 years then the mafia killed in 17 years when you learn not to trust your government you will be set free that's an inside job
