KZfaq absolutely has the technology to nuke these. Make no mistake, if KZfaq wanted them gone, they'd be gone (along with the crypto scam comments and scam ads). @threeMetreJim5 ай бұрын
Funny that KZfaq still allows links in the about section for unverified accounts, but has stopped you from placing them in the video description if you are unverified. All they need to do is have a bot follow links, and if adult content found at the destination (or other questionable content), then block the link. I'm sure Facebook does something similar already; the content remains, but clicking the links gives a warning, and the link isn't followed. That would put the spammers and sexbot owners off pretty quickly.

There seem to be three main defenses for these bots to avoid KZfaq's automatic removal. 1: innocuous and human-sounding comments. Their comments are generic and don't reference their account's purpose. 2: linking content from their profile description. Many creators have advertising links in their channel description, allowing them to blend in. 3: Video content on each bot account. It's surprising to see, and I shudder to think where they've collected their videos from. I think automatically removing these accounts would be very difficult, but Google happens to be one of the leading expert companies in machine learning. If this isn't a good place to focus their efforts with machine learning, I don't know what is.

Interesting. But to be fair, as a KZfaq viewer, who reads occasionally the comments, I never saw them before.

On an unrelated note... I have to click the unlike button twice before it registers? I can hit the like button once and it registers. What the F?

I really don’t understand what the business model is behind this. Are they really counting on people looking at their channel page and visiting the dodgy website?

yea and tons of people do. just like people still fall for scams. The rule is that if someone isn't stupid enough to fall for these dumb things then they won't fall for the money scam either. So they only want the pinnacle of brainless to go there

This yust shows a really concerning problem one layer deeper: google's captcha is fundamentally broken since months (because of AI) and creation of new accounts presumably skyrocketed.

KZfaq clearly doesn't care about their platform, because if they did they would have done something about this garbage.

they have to filter the comments to see if they make any sense in the long run.. and even then we have bots like gpt now

The same bot account leaves an identical comment on hundreds of different videos at a time or the same video has hundreds of identical spam comments from the same user. Those behaviors are simple to detect, regardless of the content of the comment or account photo. If KZfaq cared at all.

They are getting smarter tho, copying earlier posted comments and using those.
