I have learned one more variation that you might be like they guy who taught me this 20 years ago and he was 70 at that time he studied in Japan for many years and multiple arts including Judo i check with people who had 6th dan and they didn't know it actually kind of a secret from the Jujitsu days exactly the standard ippon seoi nage but simply the hand that grabs the elbow would let it go and move like semi-circle to hit the knee even the slightest tap will make huge difference and the other guy sent flying

Our most recent video posted earlier today is a knee block seoi-otoshi. Go check it out. It was a popular competitive technique before the IJF leg grab rules.

Do you have a favorite judo throw? and why?

I like Sumi-gaeshi and (drop) Tai-otoshi as techniques to use as they fit my style of Judo. Visually techniques like Uchi-mata and Utsuri-goshi can be spectacular. Techniques like De-ashi-barai are great because they show the efficiency of Judo. My favourite demo video we've done is the harai-tsurikomi-ashi followed by Obi-tori-gaeshi, they just look so cool!
