You can record but it is only recording the exact MIDI sequence you're playing. It will play back, but what it's really doing is playing back all of the midi data and re-triggering itself very accurately, including all of the nuance and dynamics. It then needs to go somewhere, and it can get there by sending USB Audio, 5 Pin MIDI DIN, USB MIDI, 4 CH Analog Audio out or 2 CH Analog Audio out. Where it goes is up to whoever needs the audio. they can go to Tape, laptop/desktop/tablet DAW, ADAT, hard disk recorder. Or you can just have it live on the module for whatever reason. I highly recommend if you record it to the module, transfer the Audio/MIDI to a computer, it can then be connected back to the module and re-triggered when needed, sending audio again.

@ArtesiaProNorthAmerica hi can you please try and help me on this one? When I listen to my drums efnote 3x through headphones and play along to backing tracks the ambience on my drums sounds as well which is what I want but when I connect a lead into the headphones on module and then record on to my phone the drum signal seems dry leaving out the ambience but I want the ambience on my recordings? Basically if I get the ambience when listen through headphones shouldn't that also be recorded if coming out of headphones jack ? Or am I missing something? Thanks in advance

@@realstreetuk Yes, as long as you're running a stereo (TRS) cable from your headphone jack to your phone, you should be sending both your stereo pan and ambience. The ambience itself is stereo, so if you use a mono cable, it will sound boxy and dry.
