Playability on these is somewhat amazing. If they sound content withing the module was broader, I would most likely buy a set. The sounds are all very similar. The reason for me getting an electronic kit would be so that our band can go in very different directions during a set. I would love some techno, house, drum and bass, dubstep, world percussion sounds, etc. The ability to load your own samples would be cool, too.

Hi Spunion6969, yes that's totally understandable. The overall concept of EFNOTE kits is to go for super high quality acoustic samples with low processing, leaving that to front of house. That being said, on the 3 and 3X series there are some classic beat machine sounds like 808's and 909/LinnDrum style sounds for more beat based music. Drum and bass with these is easy, even dub step because much of it is just layering e-snares over acoustic snare samples and down-tuning. It sounds like a Roland or Alesis may be more in your wheelhouse. I'm hoping for sound loading in the future but understand we wanted to first get our company philosophy out there and see what folks do with it. You can heavily edit 80 kits on top of the 20 internal. Have a great day, Michael

the sounds are good but in my opinion there are some important features that I don't like, the module is too small with the touch system it is not suitable for live use when you need to change parameters during live, moreover there is no sound compressor , the equalizer is two band only and it seems to me that vst cannot be imported

Thanks for your feedback, Roberto 58, we appreciate it! Glad you liked the sounds, this video was 100% built in 7 hours. Every instrument recorded (not a track), drums then recorded and videoed, audio mixed and video edited, between the shooter and I, then up on KZfaq the following day. This happened because of the simplicity of this kit. i literally picked the 3 new kits I wanted to showcase, put them in a set list in the module and built the tracks from the clicks up. That's the philosophy of the brand in general and those things you named, are there by design. The touch screen is actually the largest on the market, next to the Mimic Pro, which is in a far different price range. The module is low pro by design. The concept is that of acoustic drums, you don't to change parameters live if you have a good sounding kit. Changing parameters is for practice or rehearsal or soundcheck, not live performance. If you do want to change parameters though on the fly, it's easy with this module. As far as EQ and Compression, send the engineer a great signal and they decide what it needs from FOH, the drums aren't the place to EQ a show. If you do want to tune, muffle, change individual levels and individual reverb types and amounts, it's easily done in this module. Players are gigging with even out entry-level EFD3 kit. These are well qualified to perform live with. Michael
