Perfect concise explanation with only the necessary detail to understand why I should float test raw eggs before freeze drying. Thank you!

Thanks for explaining the reason why, because I will mostly forget if an egg floats if it’s good or bad, so knowing the reason why behind it will make me remember

Exactly the vid I needed when about to chow down on home raised eggs (of a friend’s)🙌. I’m a bit squirrelly about eating potentially spoiled food lol, so I’d rather test things on occasion rather than just bet on it 😄. The eggs I’m cooking now are at the 2-3 weeks stage. Thanks for the educational and quality share🙌.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I just tossed out over a dozen good eggs because I wasn't sure. I'd rather do that than take even the smallest chance when giving them to my kids, but now I know for sure so thank you 😊

Yes! And you can definitely tell if an egg is bad when you crack it open.

When I've asked at markets to do the float test I am refused everytime. Lol
@FreshEggsDaily2 жыл бұрын
LOL! So here's another trick. Hold the egg up to your ear and shake it. If you can feel things moving around, it's not a fresh egg.

great video! I was wondering if it's ok to leave your eggs on the counter and not in the refrigerator? Thanks
@FreshEggsDaily Жыл бұрын
Yes you can! They won't last as long, but as long as you haven't washed them, they don't need to be refrigerated. (fresh eggs only, not commercially purchased). www.fresheggsdaily.blog/2015/09/do-i-have-to-refrigerate-my-fresh-eggs.html

Absolutely surprising how long they can last especially from the fridge, I like eggs but rarely cook them for some reason many times I've been about to throw them because of their age but they were ok
@FreshEggsDailyАй бұрын
Oh for sure. Unwashed eggs will last for months in the fridge.

@FreshEggsDailyАй бұрын
Most likely. I would just crack each one into a small bowl to make sure it looks and smells okay. You will be able to tell a bad egg immediately

I had and organic egg that was a floater. When I broke it open I found out it was actually a fertilized egg.
@FreshEggsDailyАй бұрын
Oh yikes. That makes sense because at the egg ages, it loses moisture whether or not there's a chick developing inside.
@mariamathew4913 Жыл бұрын
My egg stays the way you put the 2nd one but when I broke it in the bowl it had mild smell of an egg so is it ok to fry it and eat it??

Eggs will keep longer if you coat entire egg with mineral oil, this will prevent air from getting inside.
@FreshEggsDaily5 ай бұрын
I'm not a fan of using mineral oil. Eggshells are porous and I don't want to be eating mineral oil.
