Hey guys! Today we'll be making the famous black forest cake :)
This black forest cake is a well known recipe and many birthdays have been celebrated in the presence of this cake XD
So I thought, why not share this recipe with y'all? Learn how to make soft, eggless bakery style black forest cake at home!
I've used tinned cherries to make the compote as fresh cherries are expensive and not easy to acquire in some regions. This recipe also has chocolate bark on the outer layering which is a twist upon the traditional design.
Ingredients:
For cherry compote -
200g cherries (deseeded)
55g sugar
1/2 tbsp cornflour
1/4 cup water
1/2 tbsp lemon juice

Ingredients for assembly:
Whipped cream
Sugar syrup (100g water + 25g sugar)
Cherry compote
For chocolate bark - 400g dark compound
Cherries for garnish
Storage and shelf life : Frosted cake can stay fresh for 2-3 days in the refridgerator. Cherry compote can stay fresh for approximately 20 days in the freezer.
