All a part of the marketing strategy to make Americans weak and sick. Choline, found in egg yolks (better raw), is highly nutritious. In fact, a lack of choline causes a fatty liver.

Drink from my Mennonite roots 😋. Milk, sugar, fresh farm eggs, and vanilla extract. It wasn’t until I was an adult and learned raw eggs were bad for you😂. My family lives through it. Haha. Far better than store bought junk.

Thank you for showing us from beginning to end the whole process for making both natural and tempered eggnog. My youngest son used to use a recipe I found for one glass of eggnog. Every year around this time he would make his one glass and enjoy it thoroughly! He is now a young man of 44 years old, and I still have the fondest memories of his younger days! Thank you for bringing those memories to light again for me.

I grew up in Sweden and we would make eggnog sometimes around Christmas times. However, we would just whip eggyolks and sugar until pale and drink that with a sprinkle of cinnamon in top. The adults would add brandy to it as well. I've read recipes that call for either hot or cold milk or water to be added, but we never did that. Thanks for this recipe, I will add it to my list of drinks for the upcoming holiday season 😊

Oh sister, get yourself two or three whole nutmegs, a microplane, and you will never, ever go back to preground nutmeg. I did it and now I use nutmeg in everything. It's kind of like eating tomatoes from the store in January, then eating an heirloom tomato from your garden still warm from the sun: after it, you can't go back. :) My little boys love watching your content!

One of the drawbacks of making eggnog with raw eggs is that the avodin in raw egg white binds biotin and makes it unusable to the body. I do not know how much you would have to consume in what time period to make it dangerous. Realistically, small quantities should not be harmful. But that does reduce its health benefits. Thanks for the videos. I always enjoy them, and usually learn something new.

Italians have a raw egg drink too, my husband used to drink it when he was younger. I’ll save this, I wish I had raw milk though that would be so much more healthier. Heating the milk kills all the natural bacteria in the milk.

Same way I was raised on raw egg egg nog. Something else people don't know about eggs and salmonella... A chicken with salmonella infection presents as SICK. They sit huddled in a ball and have trouble walking. On most small farms and homesteads where chickens walk around freely a sick chicken is OBVIOUS. Sick chickens lay eggs contaminated with salmonella or contaminate via their feces other eggs that have fine cracks in the shell. On most homesteads and farms the chickens are fed a healthy diet and have the freedom to walk around. The healthier diet means thicker stronger egg shells and that means far fewer fine cracks. So healthy chickens and tougher eggs means less (or none) salmonella contaminated eggs. Fresh eggs from the farm also have a fine film coating on them - put on by the hen -that protects the egg from contamination. Washing the eggs removes that protective coating. In commercial farming chickens are fed exactly what they need to produce saleable eggs ... nothing extra because feed is expensive and cuts into the bottom line. This results in an egg shell that is strong enough (usually) to withstand the trip to the grocery store. The eggs (in the US) are all washed which removes any soil, but also takes away the protective coating. (which is why we MUST refrigerate eggs in the US, but other countries often don't). The chickens themselves typically live in cages. The cages with thousands of birds in them are in a warehouse. The chickens have just enough space to move. Since they don't move much or cover any ground it is very difficult to pick a sick lame chicken with salmonella from the other chickens in the pen. Since they live in vast groups, one sick hen can contaminate many around her and their feces can contaminate even more eggs. To prevent becoming contaminated by a raw egg that contains salmonella the YOLK of the egg will need to be cooked done. No runny yolks, because the YOLK is where the salmonella resides. If you consume eggs over easy or even medium you ARE consuming raw egg. Will I eat a store egg uncooked or partially cooked? NOPE. Am I worried about eating MY chickens fresh eggs or a farm fresh egg raw? Not in the least! Now you know. Share the information.

We used to eat dandelion greens before they blossom. Then they get bitter. We put butter, salt, pepper and aple cider vinegar on them. They have more iron than any other vegetable. Adults also made dandelion wine, elderberry wine, strawberry wine and would sip this at night. So try dandelion greens and the topmost small leaves of milkweed plants. Larger leaves are too tough. Learn to live off wild plants too, your body will thank you.

Big Daddy was father to all our barn cats and who knows how many kittens of other families back then...lol. Today, I have every animal sterilized. There should only be one special kitty, right?😊
