Very helpful video. Mine worked in seconds after refusing to reset. Once I turned that bad boy with the Allen wrench 4 times, I was back in business. During the pandemic especially, that plumbing bill would have been outrageous for less than 2 mins of work. Thanks for the video

Thank you for your knowledge. A couple of months ago I turned on my disposal and it just humed and never worked again. But after seeing your video I found the reset button and it came back on humming so I used a wrench to turn it back and forth found glass and a soda top in it now it is back to normal. Thanks again saved me from buying a new unit. I love u tube

Exceptional advice. The key was using an Allen wrench in the center hole on the bottom of the disposal. I didn’t think I had a jam because it was working fine and I just switched out a white retaining ring for a chrome one. But I didn’t have anything to lose so I tried it. And lo and behold it was jammed. Saved me a lot of time, money and frustration.

Very helpful! I had to use a 3/8” drive ratchet and an allen wrench adapter to turn it. Thx for sharing your knowledge. Mine starting working when I hooked it back up.

Girl, let me tell you. I had been waiting half the day for someone to help with my disposal and turned to KZfaq out of frustration when I came across your video (after the one with the guy recommending sticking the non-business end of a plunger into the disposal and stirring it around). I finally realized what that big Allen wrench was for that has been hanging out under the sink for years and got down there with a flashlight, wriggled the wrench as you directed and voila! Problem solved. Thank you!

Almost disliked this video, because reset wouldn’t reset after spinning with allen wrench. But reading the comments made me go try again. Unplugged, spun with allen wrench a bunch of times in both directions, mashed the reset button hard as I could, plugged back in, and it worked!
