The Swanage Railway's "Strictly Bulleid II" Gala saw 8 Bulleid pacifics in steam, the highest number since 1967. The gala ran for 3 days from the 7-9th June 2024. We capture the action of the gala on the 8th & 9th aswell as some extra shots of 35006 working the normal Blue timetable service on the 10th.
The gala featured 8 Bulleid Pacifics which were:
- Rebuilt Merchant Navy Class no.35018 "British India Line"
- Rebuilt Merchant Navy Class no.35006 "Peninsula & Oriental Steam Navigation Co. Ltd"
- Rebuilt West Country Class no.34028 "Eddystone"
- Unrebuilt West Country Class no.34092 "City of Wells"
- Rebuilt Battle of Britain Class no.34053 "Sir Keith Park"
- Unrebuilt Battle of Britain Class no.34070 "Manston"
-Unrebuilt Battle of Britain Class no.34072 "257 Squadron"
-Unrebuilt Battle of Britain Class no.34081 "92 Squadron" *
* 92 Squadron failed Saturday morning and thus is not featured in this video.
After capturing the action at the Swanage Railway we then head to Parkstone station on the 10th of June to see 35018 returning to Southall with 7 mark 1 coaches brought down for the gala. We also see D6515 pass light through the station. Finally, we head to Winchester where BIL flies through the station on its way to Southall.
