Steve has a real attitude problem .been blind is no exuse for been rude to people and swearing at them. He was clearly spoiled as a child because of his disability.

The black boys parents have done an amazing job . he's such A lovely ,funny caring young man and his parents should be very very proud of the job they've done . I'm sure he has a very bright future , because he puts so much effort into college and improving himself

I think Steve is deeply depressed and needs some therapy and tablets . He has such an amazing talent at singing and playing the piano and he's wasting his talent staying in bed .

He definitely doesn’t need tablets…. Fgs not everything can be solved with drugs, that’s the very last thing he needs. Positive experiences in his life will sort this boy out not chemicals.

Why did he go to the college if he doesn’t want to attend the college?

Can't imagine having limited sight . I've just started needing glasses at age 45 and it makes me feel imperfect. These teenagers are amazing

Steve had a child with a friend of mine and they ended up splitting up. Unfortunately he didn’t want anything to do with the child and she went on to marry someone else. I hope Steve eventually did something good with his life but I know for sure, when we were in our teens/twenties, he wasn’t bothered with doing much.

Very interesting documentary, the frustrations these youngsters must have is mind blowing. I think they are all quite typical of their age group in many ways however, some on the nicer side of average and others more typical. If anyone has ever watched the Breakfast Club then the lad with the best teenage angst ever is exactly like the character called John Bender who was my all time favourite and a huge heartthrob for many of us girls at the time. Funnily enough he had dead beat parents too so it’s obviously a boy releasing his anguish. He actually seemed a cut above his father too, who could barely cook sausages let alone play the piano.

Ive worn glasses since i was age 10. I had 2 Lasik surgeries at age 41 and it helped greatly. My script went from -5.75 to -1.75 so im happy. I need glasses to drive and especially at night if its raining.

This was filmed 17 years ago. These people are all in their 30’s now. Some of us went on to achieve what we wanted to, others didn’t. Others wanted to but are still battling external obstacles. Such is life for everyone, blind or not.
