Amazing!!! I have been to the Ein Gedi waterfall and pools where a young David hid from the Wrath of King Saul...and that was beautiful, but I had no idea until now that the real jewel was in the Kibbutz up the hill...they have turned a desert wasteland into an Oasis..talk about "Making the Desert Bloom"! They have made the land a veritable "Garden of Eden!" lush and verdant...They "willed" it and turned the "dream" into reality. What a miracle this land and its' people are!

Wow! Thanks! This is the place where I used to spend multiple summers as a kibbutz volunteer more than 30 years ago! This is the place where I met the Love Of My Life. Now 30 years and many kids later, we still remember Ein Gedi. A part of us is still there.....almost paradise!

BTW the word geedi in Somali language means traveller or a person on a journey, Hebrew is related to Somali linguistically

@@hassanabdikarimmohamed2505 Probably related if Somali is an semitic language, yes...nevertheless ”Gedi” in Hebrew means ”wild goat” or what is known as Ibex. ”Ein” means ”spring of water” So, Ein Gedi means the ”spring of the Ibex”.

@@DS-ll5fn interesting, and no Somali isn't semitic, it is older than all semitic languages according to linguistic experts, because Somali is from the Cushitic branch of the afroasiatic language family, a branch which predates semitic..so yh Hebrew is related to Somali, not vice versa

You should look into your lineage. Some Poles were saved as infants from the Nazis, when their parents gave them to Gentile neighbors as the Nazis took the parents away. Meaning...the infants were Jews.

This kibbutz looks stunning , my friend was a volunteer here in the early 90s , we both went to Kibbutz Yad Hanna in the mid 90s but i would have liked to have gone to Ein Gedi.

Thank you so much for this walk around Ein Gedi, I stayed there in December '19 - and hope to go back next spring God willing. Beautiful botanical gardens and the walk into the desert with the waterfalls was stunning .Also really enjoyed the visit to the old excavated synagogue near the main road.

This and the previous Video of Ein Gedi Spring conveys why I call Ein Gedi my 'Heavan on Earth' although I am an atheist. Relaxing Walker captures both the Spring and Kibbutz just as I know it. I have been visiting Ein Gedi since 1969 when we slept outside under the stars in what was then just a fledgling Kibbutz! Nothing can equal Ein Gedi !!

I loved the walk through Ein Gedi, It has just occurred to me after seeing a bird on the video of how few birds are seen in any of your walks as we have so many in the UK in our gardens and parks. Carry on with your relaxing walks, thank you

Blessings from Canada. Staggering scenery and gorgeous gardens! So glad I got to Israel in Feb 2020 before the covid craziness. And we are using the Israeli drip irrigation water system in our greenhouse for year round planting in Ontario.

David Ben Gurion lived here at the kibbutz and believed that the future of Israel lay with cultivating and populating the desert. If anyone is interested there is an informative film about the making of a film about the life of this important man. I found it on youtube at:"Ben Gurion epilogue-the story behind the making of the film." Hope it appears if you search.

Je me demande quel courage animait ces hommes qui ont réussi à transformer le désert en lieu habitable. Une intelligence et une force remarquable pour vaincre ce sable, le soleil et l’eau salée année après année. Je dois rendre hommage à la grandeur de ces œuvres humaines que l’on nomme kibboutz. Beautiful Ein gedi views kibbutz top views superb wide road bus and car few vehicles moving no traffic beautiful trees full with different types of trees hope its herbs, vegetables,fruits trees flowers are beautiful with different variety houses are beautiful covered with trees,guest house beautiful staircase top also beautiful houses lots of greenery trees and grasses beautiful views of the mountain open space covered with fence nice green garden looks big estate beautiful view of Dead Sea one beautiful lady sitting relaxing under a tree,few are walking lonely enjoying the greenery fresh air, track,car moving,on the road no crowd beautiful place birds are singing loved to hear,there was dogs barking sound,very nice greenery strong stems , trees all over beautiful arranged dustbin, very clean,many care were parked beautiful building roads are so clean, I loved this place refreshing blessed.thoda rabba Adonai bless you and ur family always
