Takes a lot of practice and trusting yourself to get the ball that far but usually you are rewarded with a good shot because getting it out that far unless the lanes are torched it will hit the pocket.

Probably has something to do with the pattern they laid down for this shoot. Otherwise, I would say he’s putting a bit of a flick on his release in order to assure that it will make it back to the pocket.
