How did you record audio from headsets? Also did you test for range between helmets i.e. bike to bike?

what is the range for this, is it really as they advertise 1.2km in open area? Do you have to activate talk mode somehow or it always is ready for communications as you speak? Looking for something to use while trail riding with buddies.

When using the intercom with my full-face helmet, I've noticed that the microphone distorts the sound during calls. I've tried adjusting the microphone position and sensitivity, but the problem persists. Has anyone had a similar experience and found a solution?
