I agree - when I did the programming component of the course and it said "now go make a keylogger in C++", I was in trouble.

Very useful and fantastically practical course. It is a pity that they removed the last (4) module. ((( He just recently appeared. "eJPT Exam Preparation" But in the end, they either abandoned it or cut it out.

Thanks for the video. How is the recognition of this cert? Will this cert expire like CISSP or any other cert? Where I have to renew it with any points or anything like that?

The eJPT recognition is growing fairly quickly, but is not yet at the level of a CEH or OSCP as far as recognition goes. I do expect that to change in the near future though. As for expiration, the eJTP exam is currently on its 4th iteration so expect eLearnsecurity to continue that trend. Not sure if there are renewal points. I expect you'll just need to re-certify, but check the vendor's website as I am not sure.

@@JakeeReacher I think the eCPPT is almost there. At the very least if you are being interviewed by an expereinced PT ( Not by HR), He/She would definitely recongnise it

I know their Penetration Testing Student path is meant to be the official training for eJPT. Whether that's enough for you, I couldn't speculate. Either way, best of luck to you on your studies!

Congratulations you might be the 1st instructor at ITPROTV who holds a certification. Most of the others do not hold any certs other than some cisco ccnas but they love to teach it.

That's a bit of an understatement, to say the least. This video (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iZqbdZlyqJ-co6s.html) is from 2017, and we've added several edutainers since then, and many have added certs since then. Just look at the lists from Adam and Don alone!

Just so you know, any course associated with the eLearnSecurity certifications is done by INE which is one of our main competitors. The exams and certification is still done through eLearnSecurity. INE acquired eLearnSecurity late last year much like we did with ACI. Any questions they have regarding the official training and/or certification specifics would need to be directed to eLS/INE. All that said, I have only done eJPT, so that's all I know as of right now

That is a great question, but I'm not sure if it expires or not and I don't see anything jumping out to me about it on their website. You'll probably just need to contact eLearnsecurity's support and they'll have that info for you.

The eJPT doesn't require Network+ or Security+. When I took the exam you were provided with a slide deck that covers the networking concepts you'll need to be successful on the exam.

Take both! Seriously though, Pentest+ and eJPT are both great exams and certifications. You'll learn a lot of the same material with either. I think the eJPT is the better exam experience and their HERA labs were a great training aid for preparing you for the exam. That isn't to say the Pentest+ is bad, it's a really good exam/cert IMO, but if I had to choose one and all things being equal, I'd go eJPT.

Was this exam proctored.? Like Offensive Security's exam.? No one is talking about this. I will be taking eJPT for the preparation of OSCP Cert exam.

No it is not proctored. Therefore you are able to pause and take breaks, look up questions that you are unsure about, etc. Best of luck to you on the exam!

@@ITProTv Since it is not proctored, is it safe to assume that the hardware/system requirements to sit for the exam are lower than that of the OSCP? I have seen some people say that the proctoring software in the OSCP takes quite a toll on one's machine, especially older ones. So now im thinking i'll prolly opt to go for the eJPT first if that is the case. Is a Kali VM required? or could I just do the exam from, say, Parrot OS installed on my laptop? Thanks in advance!

3 days, 15 and total is 20. get atleast 17 right. someone got 15 and submitted but failed because of one question.

AMIGO's, If the goal is INFOSEC, particularly red/purple team, do I need Net+ or CCNA? i.e. jus got Sec+, should I do Linux/Python next or Net+/CCNA? What is your thoughts on that? oNe

If you're looking to do Infosec you will need a solid networking background. Net+ or CCNA is a great way to get that. It wouldn't hurt to just go ahead and start working in a Linux environment and building with BASH and/or Python. This could be accomplished with a Virtual Machine and could be done along side of your networking studies. If doing all 3 is too much then just focus on your networking studies then move to Linux, then programming/scripting.

I just landed an entry level PEN-TESTER position off a 2 month old forum job post, even tho it was old I still reached out and they apparently loved my energy, hunger, and drive so much they brought me onboard!! So now I'll be learning Networking on the job.. Along along with Security.. so for the time being, no more certs!! Woot, woot, I start MONDAY.. can't wait!!! oNe P.S. now I just need to convince this company to buy us an ITProTV subscription and ditch PluralSight,. any ideas or Recommendations?

Congrats on passing the eJTP!!! I would be cautious about studying for more than one exam at a time. I've found it easier to focus on one at time, but we are all different. Regardless, best of luck to you!!

Timed tests are problematic as hell. There's a lot of people who think slower, are methodical and come out of the end of problems with a hugely accurate result. There are people who think fast on their feet and excel at times tests. But the slow people aren't stupider than the fast thinkers, they are just as smart. Timed tests benefit some and penalise others over arbitrary time limits
