I want to be fluent in spanish when George W Bush was President 3 months after 9 / 11 attacks in the 4th grade I was watching Dora The Explorer, listening to Latin Pop, JLO, Selena, Salsa & while I was bullied in school some of the kids tease me for watching Dora The Explorer . Watching Dora The Explorer in my childhood help me learn spanish. This video lesson is very helpful. Thanks! It could also be improved if the narrator paused for a few seconds after the english phrase. That way the listener would have a chance to attempt to translate before the answer is announced. :)

Really like this one. It would be even better if there were an additional 10 seconds added to the pause after the English was spoken so that we students had a little more time to come up with the correct words ourselves. Learn by doing! Thanks

hola, no, "estaba tarde ayer" suena mal y no tiene sentido, tienes como una segunda alternativa "llegué atrasado ayer" si es que quieres dar a entender que llegaste fuera de tiempo, atrasado, mas tarde de una hora acordada. Ahora yo te pregunto ¿puedo decir en English "I arrived late yesterday" ? Para mi "I was late yesterday" significa, literalmente, "yo estuve tarde ayer" y no "llegué tarde ayer", porque no usamos el verbo " estar" para decir o reemplazar el verbo " llegar",si te das cuanta la confusión se genera en ambos sentidos y te entiendo la hacer la pregunta, espero te sirva mi comentario.

this is a fairly good format, except he prounces the C and Z incorrectly. Cinco is pronounced "sinko" not "thinko" and luz is "looze" not "looth". The repetition 3 times allowing one to repeat between spoken phrase is very helpful.

I was looking for a video that would first speak the phrase in Spanish, then give the English translation after a pause allowing the student to try to first translate the Spanish into English. Unfortunately all of the YT Spanish lessons I've seen give the the English first then translate it to Spanish. This does not help understanding when Spanish is spoken to you. It only helps you speak Spanish to others. This video is not what I was looking for.

Jasmine Forcer I’ve been told Spanish spoken in Spain pronounces that “c” as a “th”, while Mexicans pronounce it as a “s”. Different regions have different accents.

hola, puedes recortar, dividir el video, yo utilizo el programa "Avidemux", no toma mucho tiempo, luego lo reproduzco en algun reproductor seleccionando la opción repetir. Is it me or does the guy speaking Spanish doesn't pronounce the "C" in the words??? What's this about? I know some Spanish and also know Spaniards, Mexicans, Central and South Americans I know dialects are different and words etc... But why is he lisping the "C" ??? Can someone enlighten me?

This is the standard accent of Spain. Madrid area. That is why it has the C as a th sound. Z is the same in many cases.

I appreciate the effort put into this but I've always found English speech interspersed with another language I'm trying to learn distracting. Maybe just me, but these types of lessons work beetter if you just show the English text and avoid speaking in anything but the target language.

I thought this video was quite useful in giving me phrases rather than grammar to learn, but the unnecessary background music drives me mad and I won't be watching any more. Shame, why the music? A language teacher wouldn't play background music in class would they? Why? Does it make learning better?
