Wow! What an impressive idea and performed solution for an ambidextrous bow.
The “El Dorado” reflex-deflex ambidextrous longbow by Great Plains Traditional Bows.
Very premium build, just beautiful and the bow feels good in your hands.
And the performance is top, either right hand, left hand or (of course) thumb release.
What an incredible bow. Thank you guys from Great Plains, you are awesome!

The care these guys put into their craft is amazing. Their channel is also worth checking out. Last I saw they were improving a Black Hunter longbow just for the challenge of it. This bow was developed for a couple one of whom was right handed and the other left handed that wanted to only use a single bow for the two of them. This was the result. Pricey but it is hand made by careful craftsmen/artisans to order vs mass production, so I guess I can understand (like my opinion about it really matters 🙃). It is a lifetime purchase. Armin is a lucky guy to get it gratis.

Very cool design!!! And a sweet performer!!! I have seen several bows designs that utilize the dual string nocks...however, those were to give the archer two different draw weights. The dual string nocks on this bow function with a different goal in mind, I guess. Innovative and impressive!!! Thanks for a nice review!!!

I own several GP bows, they are the best (so far) I had in my hands. I recently had another longbow from another company for testing, I don't want to talk badly about them, but it was no way near of the quality compared to GP. The idea of this bow is nice, but I don't see much use of it in practical. 68" should be fine for 32" to 33" draw length. Minimum arrow weight sth. like 300-350gn what I have in mind. You should test some Arni (CZ) longbows, never had them, a lot of archers from Austria love and trust them.

I get the design, I think it's wonderful. Can someone please explain to me however why I would want to flip the bow to shoot the other hand in the first place? What is actually wrong with a longbow with no shelf shooting right or left-handed? There is only a tiller issue if you flip the boat correct? So just don't flip the bow build the grip with a shelf on both sides? Someone please set me straight.

@@brynion2117 well the whole point with a custom is its handmade. Great plains is exact that made just by hand by two people shane and nikolaus. You cant compare that to production bows with 100s of employes. How a bow shoot is just one aspect. The great plains bows has a feeling and soul in them you just dont get with main marked bows.

Knowing that Great Plains insist people use a bow stringer, your insistence in not using one actual caused me some annoyance this time. Especially after your "do as I say, and not as I do" warning to your audience to "always use a stringer". It came across as insincere if I'm being honest. Normally I don't think twice about your bow stringing method, but this time, given the beauty and creativity embodied in this bow, I thought/hoped you'd make an exception and respect the wishes of the bowyer. What can I say, watching you struggle to achieve enough bend in the limbs to string the bow triggered my anxiety that you'd inadvertently twist a limb and damage the bow. It was hard to watch.
