In fairness this does play a little cleaner than the 550p but the 550p at $189 is unbeatable for performance to value.

I agree with the review. I coincidently happened to have done what was said before this review cam-out. I however bought two to offset the size and frequency issue. One sub for each speaker placing them near the front wall (not the corner) out a foot helped especially with the listener sitting across from subs 180 instead of near them. They need proper placement and room to breathe to get the most out of the deeper sub-frequencies and perform best when projected slightly away from the wall and speaker. You have to mess with the knob phase too.

Ok Nemo,, I put my fingers in my ears and read the subtitles instead, cus I cant take bad words,, 🙄😂. Iw heard the ELAC 2070 Sub, and that one can kick some serious ass,, 💥🤪💥. Expensive, yes, but there are many on the used market. Cheers, thanks and have the best of weekends,, 🍻😎👍‍‍.

I used to have a Klipsch sub that claimed it was a 225 peak amp when in reality it was 55 watts RMS. If a company only gives the peak number I divide by four.

“If you’re gonna buy it at full price, just don’t.” That had me rolling laughing 😂 this will be a pass for me I have the Klipsch SPL100 and even that sub Im not fully satisfied. It booms and can hit but I want something cleaner and deeper. Rhythmik is going to be where I’m headed. I want a pair of f12s or if I’m allowed to dream, F18s haha

Are you going to setup stereo or dual mono or experiment with both?

@@erics.4113 I will get a amp that has 2 separate sub lfe output with separate phase. So dual mono. I may experiment with high level stereo but you loose all DSP and most importantly Audyssey courve control. Doesn't hurt to set up both, I can disable the LFE in stereo mode which means I can have both setups at the same time for movie and music.

@@MT-eb2dx I'm running high level to pair of rel in stereo, but I'm having room issues and modes that I hope to treat with minidsp in near future. I suppose the manual approach to your audyssey.. but I'm holding out for stereo and will try dual mono if I can't get it where I want taking room measurements.

Try dual mono instead bro, every room is a little different, some are better dual stereo while others are better dual mono.

@@erics.4113 One of the reasons why I got a second sub is because of the room modes, and I can't place both ideal. One is behind the speaker one is to the side in front. I know it will sound much better with dual sub Audyssey management! If one has a better room like Nemo that probably would not be necessary. I already enjoy the benefits although they both get the same lfe signal.

@@NemoPropaganda Hi!! I have a set of Kef R 5.. 1 Micro and I feel that since the size is small, the impact part lacks volume .. Or replace it with something else, perhaps next to a plain sb 2000, I don't know if it's a good idea or how I could possibly create more impacts!?Thank you

@@tibitibi1407 okay so Micro is just too small for your taste in bass it seems. That is understandable. If you like the sound of the Micro then the easy solution is to go for a larger SVS sub. Even the SB1000 can play louder than the Micro. If its mainly for theater I would go for something like the PB1000 Pro.

Or would it only be good if there was another micro?I thought that the micro would remain and I would supplement it with a subwoofer!! But what would go with the micro? It's no problem if you have a micro and a plain 2000, not the Pro!? Thanks

I don't love either of them but I have no idea what your goals are. The elac just sucks and the Tzero is way too small to satisfy my taste personally, it's not really a subwoofer in the traditional sense.

JBL 550p 10 inch sub for $189 sale price I paid with shipping destroys that and that's saying a lot! I have 2! 50lb sealed pitbull subs. That weighs 30lbs!🤭 Normal price $699. Goes on sale often.😇 $189 😳😉 And it has a wave guide like all JBL 500 series speakers.

For price to perfromance ratio yes the 550p wins but this Elac does play a little cleaner and has a nice painted finish so it just depends on what you're after :).

@@owen-ng8oe pretty much yeah, the Elac is built better and sounds cleaner but those looking for just maximum output at the lowest price possible will be pleased with the 550p but I would def recommend this over that due to the cleaner sound.

@@NemoPropaganda In your earlier videos you mentioned the Emotiva 8 and 12" as decent value. The Elac is about the same price but there was no mention of the Emotiva subs. Just wondering if they have fallen out of favor, or is the Elac so much better for the price.
