"Refresh rate" (I think its actually a pulse-width modulation) bugged me about the Holosun green dots, which is weird because their red dots are perfect (no PWM on any brightness). I'm glad companies are fixing this, because PWM is a lazy and inferior way to give an LED different brightness settings. Its common with cheap flashlights too.

I guess if you don't want RMR/SRO footprint guess this is worth a look, but at more cost than 507comp seems like a massive whiff. I regularly scoop up 507comps well below the 370 msrp guessing numerous others do as well. My noob-ness likes 5 moa or 6 moa reticles, but clearly Ben is a way better shooter than I so i will take that info on board and try some smaller options.

I'm surprised to hear that you prefer smaller dots. Ive been shooting a 6moa EPS but in actuality it looks more like 20 moa to my eyes (The dot completely covers the black part of a b8 bull, which is about 5 inches wide, at 25 yards). Anyway I've just been shooting it and not really thinking anything of it, but this got me thinking maybe I should try the 2moa holosuns for my next red dot. Given how the 6moa looks in actuality, the 2 moa should appear to be about 6moa on target. Have you had this experience also?

I had my GLOCK MOS plate fail yesterday after 24,500 rounds. Both plate screws sheared off during recoil and the sight hit me in the forehead. Have you had any experience with these plate screws failing on your Glocks with high round count?
@carlosdaniels9515Ай бұрын
I had that happen with my M&P 2.0 with the factory provided plastic optics plate. Bounced off my forehead and landed behind me while at the range. It happened right around 8,600rds.I got a custom made metal plate from @ImpactMachine. I'm well over 20K+rds now, and not a problem since. They also had their own custom metal plate for my MOS G35. I got it also just as a preventive measure.

C&H precision Try their plates and hardware.
@NDcompetitiveshooterАй бұрын
@@HWG-wm8ld I have a C&H plate on my Glock 47 back-up gun that I now have to take to a match this Saturday. The screws holding the plate to the MOS cut came loose (despite cleaning, Loctite, and proper torque) at 900 rounds and needed retorquing. I'm really reconsidering the MOS cut since it doesn't have sufficient tolerances and recoil support of the optic IMO. Some are having good success with green Loctite between the plate and the slide, but now I'm looking at getting non-MOS slides and having dedicated optics cuts like the one offered by C&H Precision. It looks the most stable. I also like that I will be able to check and torque screws if needed without removing the optic.

I can’t speak for competition guys, but you will use your dot far more than a magnified optic. If fighting you want something that is fast to get on target. You will shoot from odd positions. Shooting past 50 yards is never going to happen as a civilian defending your home. I use eotech but recommend an aimpoint. If using a magnified optic, get something with an illuminated retical that can be used like a dot.
@_Art.VandelayАй бұрын
I just wish that more companies would make enclosed optics. Big windows are cool but I think enclosed is more practical.
@JakeCamoАй бұрын
Possibility of seal breaking and fogging has happened to every single one of them. For a competition dot the advantages are so minimal… But I get the argument for duty.
@swiftaudiАй бұрын
The 509t is still my favorite enclosed optic. If they can get that size in an optic with no magnification or distortion that would be great. The acro has so much going on around it, it feels like looking through a window.

@GeorgiaShootersGroupАй бұрын
Game spoiler. Of all the dumb things Vortex could have done, both of the new defenders use the Delta Point Pro footprint. So everyone with RMR patterns, plates are a NO GO. The small one uses RMS/Shield which was BRILLIANT. DPP is the worst legacy optic I've ever used. Vortex you crapped the bed on that decision. I will NOT be using one now. Match the price of the Holosun comp MSRP and provide an RMR footprint. I will always buy Vortex due to their unlimited warranty if the product is right. Trijicon warranty expires from the mfg date, not when you buy it. So although they are good people I've been denied warranty and sent MANY of the SRO's back for exchange.
@carlosdaniels9515Ай бұрын
I had a trijicon rmr fail on my G35. Said it was an emitter contact that came loose. Warranty was expired. Looked around at a local gun store and discovered the Holosun 507CGR and 510CGR at that time. Before a month had passed I had purchased 10 different Holosun dots and a 3X magnifier. Had only 1 507CGR dot that started to flicker while shooting (8,600rds ish). Sent an email for warranty and got a new one in no time, no questions asked. Just got my hands on 2 507COMP greens upon their release. Damn near wish they would get into the LPVO side of things, just to shake things up
