I remember watching on TV. I went to their gig in Edinburgh, Queens Hall, 2005, 800 or so capacity on the back of LOTFW roughly 1 week before my 19th birthday, I had never before and never will feel anything like that at a gig ever again. The emotion in the music and the feelings they generate especially in live shows is on another level.

The little smile on Guy's face at 4:55 says it all... and just look at the faces in the choir, there's not a person in the room that is not caught up completely and lifted to new heights by the gentle, simple beauty of this song... utterly stunning

I totally agree... I first heard it while my wife and kids were out of town. I've always loved my wife--she's the kind of love Guy sings about--but suddenly I felt this overwhelming joy take over, and I couldn't wait for her to get back home! Just to see her face, even... I don't know what it is about this song, but it's by far one of my favorites of all time. Can't wait for Elbow to get to the states so I can see them live!

i tell ya, im a death metal guy and i saw them do this for the first time on tv at the glastonbury coverage. i was thinking the beginning piano was a bit repettitive but by the time the strings came in my eyes were watering. absoloutely beautiful. Not the hardest song to play instrument wise, but you have to be a really special musician to write something like this. Amazing isnt the word, its amazing what a soundscape thy create with all the instruments and vocals. love em!

Phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal. Off the charts. I love this band so very, very much. Met them before a gig in LA last year; we talked for about 10-15 minutes about the album. Guy remembered me from 2 years earlier, when they toured "Leaders" at the same venue; "We've met before, 'aven't we?" Solid guys, unbelievable writing and performance. Lyrics to one of the greatest love songs I plant the kind of kiss that wouldn't wake a baby On the self-same face that wouldn't let me sleep And the street is singing with my feet And dawn gives me a shadow I know to be taller All down to you, dear Everything has changed My sorry name has made it to graffiti I was looking for someone to complete me Not anymore, dear Everything has changed And we made the moon our mirrorball The streets, an empty stage The city sirens violins Everything has changed So lift off love Lift off love We took the town to town last night We kissed like we invented it And now I know what every step is for To lead me to your door Know that while you sleep Everything has changed We made the moon our mirrorball The streets, an empty stage The city sirens violins Everything has changed Everything has changed Everything has changed So lift off love Lift off love (down to you, dear) Lift off love (down to you, dear) Lift off love (down to you, dear) Lift off love (down to you, dear) Lift off love (down to you, dear)
