the winged insignia is op. even when charge r2'ing, whenever both fists hit, it counts as 2 attacks. So it is really easy to proc it

Hey Jev, you should 100% pick up the omenkiller mask in leyndell before beating maliketh, it frees up a talisman slot and allows you to meet the base requirements for star fists.

Technically you don't have to do Ranni's quest to reach astel, you can go from the aqueduct facing cliffs sights of grace in the ancestral woods. From there you would have to fight double gargoyles to enter deep root depths. In deeproot depths there's a coffin that takes you to the lake a rot, the coffin is near the nameless city sight of grace. It's a double whammy I like to do for the lichdragon and astel remembrance. Only caviat for rune level one run is the double gargs that can be an annoying fight.

It really shows how important levelling vigor is compared to other stats for new people

I don't know if someone mentioned this already, but you could also use the Red-Feathered Branchsword. You would need to use Bloody Slash or something like that to get you to low health but it would give you a 20% damage bonus and it won't matter if you're low or since everything 1 shots you at this point.

The only thing jev has left to do after this is just actually recao and show the keys elements of the actual story in this game because hes basically taught everyone how to do anything else they would want to do in an extreme format, but 1 thing that always gets casual players is having to figure out the quests and stories on their own because everyone talks so abnormally and stays so far away from each other

Like many I have done lvl 1 Elden ring and there’s is one thing I recommend, when I got later in the game the ritual shield talisman wasn’t cutting it anymore so I got a stamina talisman, so I highly recommend a stamina tailsman (viridian amber medallion +1/2 or turtle talisman) it made the last fights way better as stamina is very annoying

11:10 yeah thats 100% correct, thats why in the early game its way better to just level up health, stam, mind etc. instead of just dex, and strenght, unless you need specific strength level to wield the weapons of course

at your current equip load blue dancer will give a higher % damage increase on all attacks than axe will even on heavies. also its located at the very beginning of the game so getting it should be pretty easy. all around worth if damage ever becomes an issue.

Use the claymore, it comes with lions claw but you can put the blood ash of war from the castle near where the hole appears after redahn.

the main great rune i see used in RL1 runs is godricks due to +5 in every stat. it lets you use a few more weapons and carry more. which is very nice

The important thing about optimising the dmg in rl1 runs, that you want to do the fights as scripted as you can. This is why the things like godricks greatrune, blue dancer and flame grant me strength are important.

Hey Jev, I use Star fists as well, crag blade is good but if you use Royal Knights Resolve it increases your damage by 80% for a single use hit, really good for charging, can use it multiple times, and it doesn't use a lot of fp. Just a suggestion

JEV!! there are bell bearings in the DLC area that allow purchasing of mushrooms and pots and other such items, this may be useful for you but you also gotta get to the DLC area lol

Before you fight malilketh you can give all deathroots to gurranq and in the boss fight he will say a ton of stuff that's different from when you first enter the fight beginning to end

just finished my first play through ever, with no summons or magic. used the rosuss’ axe +10 the whole play through. Malkieth took me two weeks, I beat Elden beat at lvl 123

hey I've been doing a rl1 run about a week before you and I recommend killing Okina for his mask as it gives 3 dexterity and that could help with a slight more damage, also getting the blue dancer would be very good, and getting milicents prothesis. Just tryna help but your doing awesome 👍

when you're using golden vow and cragblade mid fight use vow first because swapping to the dagger gets rid of the buff

You don’t need to do ranni quest to fight Astel but you do need to do the mother of fingers quest to fight one of the dpc bosses
