I want someone to do a fan comic or something about that. Like, Melina is begging the tarnished not to seek the frenzied flame and the tarnished, having no idea what she’s talking about is like “yeah yeah yeah. Listen. There’s a secret down here. It looks like this is a dead end, but actually, one of these walls… is secretly a door!” Melina looks absolutely terrified right up until the tarnished hits the illusory wall and opens the way to the deep root depths. Then he chides her being like “see? Look at this beautiful view! And you were so worried about absolutely nothing. Let’s continue.” And then Melina sighs a heavy sigh of relief, wipes the sweat off her brow and follows after him. If I had any artistic skill I’d do it myself, but, you know.

That's how I always get to Deeproot Depths. I just don't like fighting the gargoyles. Plus, there's good loot along the way.

I found a video explaining the theory that since Melina’s lore (from her dagger) kinda explains that she is the kindling maiden … blah blah of Destined Death kinda explains (if true) that if you, the Tarnished, allows the Frenzied flame to destroy and kill everyone and everything, it denies her of her very purpose. “I'm searching for my purpose given to me by my mother inside the Erdtree long ago, for the reason that I yet live, burned and bodyless. There is something for which I must apologize. I've acted the finger maiden yet I can offer no guidance, I am no maiden. My purpose was long ago lost...” “The Erdtree...is close. Only a little further till the foot of the Erdtree, and the accord is fulfilled. It takes me back. I was born at the foot of the Erdtree. Where mother gave me my purpose. Though now, everything is lost to me. I...have to ascertain for myself. The reason for which I live, burned and bodiless.” So since Death Rune was destroyed - she is without purpose and she is trying to get it back or something like that.

Who really knows, after the ending the only one who can kill the lord is destined death, and the only one who can completely make spirits cease to exist is the frenzy flame. Prob both they will die istantly

@@TheLotterySack mmm, she is the vessel of the rune destined death, normal process of dying. With it she can slay the frenzy flame lord, but well it doesnt well good neither for her because the frenzy can kill even spirits and gods if ignited
