Just noticed during this video that while you are charging the palm blast, you actually get a poise buff icon under your health showing that it's not just hyper armor, but actually fully boosting your poise higher. noticed it specifically at 15:41 Edit: Turns out that it's actually a defensive boost +25% to all damage negation while it's charging and releasing. The actual charging is, in fact, just regular hyper armor after all lol

As someone who used palm blast for most of my first playthrough you absolutely have to call it out every time you use it

Shattered stone talisman affects the kicks in both the movesets, and theres also the divine bird warrior greaves to increase kicks further, definitely enough stuff there to maybe do a dedicated build. Jump attacks also are kicks so could throw in the claw talisman.

Didn't see you mention it, but uncharged palm blast gives a true combo into R1 or offhand L1. You can get 900-1200 damage off of trades this way, depending on your offhand weapon.

Palm blast is sooooo fun. Most people do not respect the insane damage and hyper armor that move has and they find out real quick. I’ve been invading at the final dungeon and blasting people off the edge with it. Dryleaf arts are such a fun addition to the game. The jumping heavy does good damage and has quite a bit of distance.

I wanted to add because you didnt use it at all but if you put footwork in one hand and dryleaf in the other you get full access to the kick moveset and the l1 does the dryleaf dual wield r1 moveset. Pretty versatile for mixups

There’s so many ways to boost the kicks, you’ve got the shattered stone talisman and the divine bird bottoms. And cause the move-set incorporate jumps you can also throw in the claw talisman and raptor black feathers or the grave bird armour

using the shattered stone talisman and the divine bird legs makes your kicks do a bunch more damage. i was doing a bunch of arena matches where I'd do the running r2, into a non-charged r2, into the jumping r2, into the dryleaf whirlwind ash with frostbite and it would do crazy damage.

As a previous fist user, this video was a joy to watch! Inspired me to begin my 150 lvl build I've been procrastinating on 😶‍🌫️

Dryleaf whirlwind is by far my most favorite AoW for the new kung fu weapons its just so fun to do.

The best part about the new hand to hand weapons are the mixups! It's like a boss battle, honestly, you're the boss. Start unarmed, soft swap to a stronger weapon, then hard swap to a weapon with a finisher, like the Sword of Damnation. I"ve had crazy fun invasions with that.

For the jumping heavys you can boost them by a lot by using the divine bird warrior greaves, the claw talisman, the rapors black feathers (gravebird blackquill armor) as well as the Shattered stone talisman. They all buff jumping heavy attacks on the martial arts so that they do a lot more damage than normal. The greaves and the shattered stonw talisman also bosst the poison flower blooms twice ash of war which I personally find very fun.

These hands are rated E for everyone

that step forward with the palm blast seems like a blessing and a curse! If they close the distance too quick you blast passed them, but if they try to run you still have a good chance to hit

I adore that they added these. I loved using the Bone Fist in ds2, it just looks so cool.
